Ezekiel Elliott: A lot of things the NFL does "define ridiculous"

Ezekiel Elliott didn't expect a fine from the NFL for dropping $21 and Dak Prescott into the Salvation Army kettle in separate touchdown celebrations against Washington two weeks ago. He didn...

Am I crazy to think that these comments by Elliott could end up getting him a suspension? NFL offices can be pretty petty and vindictive.

You’re crazy.

Players bash the league all the time. He wasn’t even disrespectful.

Just celebrate the touchdown with the other 10 guys that helped get you there without the creative license, there is nothing that you can do after the score that would make it any better other than a successful conversion.

First, Elliott is totally right.

But... we're like 4 games from playoffs. Can we just maybe not poke the bear for a couple months?

I mean, I get that he was respectful and didn't go very far, but this season already feels like it balances on a knife's edge as it is.

Personally, im in "House Stark" mode about this team: "Brace yourselves. Winter (December football) is coming."

I am sure Mara and Goodell will make up a new rule in needed to do so.

What I love about zeke and the cowboys here is they are putting supporting a very Nobel cause in the salvation army above the bureaucracy that is the NFL.

The donations spiked two years ago and that was the same intention this year....jerrry May do a lot that pissws people off but he does an awesome job with the red kettle campaign.

I'm proud of zeke and the cowboys...this is they type of thing that this team should stand for: winning and using it to create good for people struggling around the holidays....

I wonder what Prescott's warning letter said.

"Do not let players pick you up and use you as a prop in celebrations."
I wondered about that
I assume the league looked at it as a planned thing
Personally I see the kettle about the same as the stands in GB
Either say no props or let other teams have their props too

Zeke was not fined for putting money in the kettle. He was fined for putting Prescott in the kettle.

After Zeke’s TD and $21 kettle contribution, Marshon Lattimore stripped/recovered Amari Cooper’s fumble at midfield. Then Marshon sprinted to the end zone fifty yards away and donated $23 (his jersey number). Where is Marshon’s fine?!

This is the first time I'm hearing about this. If true, that is some serious hypocrisy on the part of the NFL.

Zeke was not fined for putting money in the kettle. He was fined for putting Prescott in the kettle.

Ohh, well if this is true then disregard my above quote lol.

putting the money in is a donation, putting another player in or jumping in isnt.
It is that simple.
The player celebrations after scoring , or even getting a first down is old and tiring.
I dont care for any of the celebrations.

I just don't understand how Zeke putting Dak in the kettle is a penalty and fine... where as things like a pretend sack race, these group photo shoots, a game of duck-duck-goose, hide and seek, mock Fultz free throw, these long *** almost choreographed planned celebrations involving half the team are perfectly fine? It really makes little sense to me.

Note: I know "why" based on the writing of the rules, that's not what I'm saying.

If the NFL was smart, they would come out and make a statement that basically says, we don't condone what Elliot did with the Prescott incident but we are 100% behind the young man in his effort to donate to the Salvation Army and would like to set up a campaign, where by we match any donation made by a player, to the Salvation Army. That would be a win win, turning a horrible PR situation into a huge win IMO.

They would need Mara's approval?!
