Current list of all QB salaries and Dak *The $25 Million Worth Merge*

Good QBs get paid well in the NFL
Average QBs get paid well in the NFL
QBs on their Rookie deal don't get paid as well, non-1st rounders get nothing

Do you have anything of value to add to the conversation?

Do you? You're the guy that thinks AJ McCarron is a better pick up than Dak.

What do you want Dak to prove? 13-3 in his rookie campaign, mounts an incredible comeback in the divisional round, then gets beaten by an all-time great pass and catch by Rodgers on 3rd and 20 and a 50+ yard Crosby FG eog. He doesn't play defense, yo.

9-7 during his sophomore campaign with no RB for 6 games and no WR threats.

8-5 right now and riding a 5 game win streak. No WR1 to start the year. Beasley (!) was the leading receiver after 6 games.

One thing is certain: Jones and company know more about football than anyone posting here. Dak's their guy. Move on.

If it was me I would just cut him.

Look at Foles....he won the Superbowl, and now hes benched....

Our strength is Zeke and defense....spending big money on average QB just doesnt make sense to me

In my view many QBs can come in here and give un 26th in passing or better
Quarterbacks help win games and Super Bowls. They do not win Super Bowls by themselves no matter how much some people completely believe they do.

Foles was the Philadelphia's backup quarterback. He returned to the backup role after the Eagles named franchise quarterback returned from injury the next season.

Philadelphia's and Dallas' circumstances were and are not similar at the position from the Cowboys perspective. Prescott's performance in his rookie season impressed Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett so much they prevented their named franchise quarterback, Romo, from returning to the starting lineup after healing from his injury during that season. In effect, Prescott was immediately named the team's de facto franchise quarterback. And it is highly unusual for teams to jettison their healthy franchise quarterbacks, especially when it is not their intention.

The individual circumstances involving Foles, Prescott and the quarterback position are not logically comparable for these reasons.

Well the upside to resigning Dak would be that u know what you have. There is always inherent risk with a new Qb. If the management can live with his limitations at least dont pay top 10 money for bottom 10 performance. The numbers simply don’t lie.
Absolutely numbers don't lie; 30-15. It's the only number that matters.

The only way that would happen is if the Cowboys front office bid against themselves. They have the option of the transition tag allowing the market to determine Dak's salary, that's the route they should go gives them the flexibility to match any offer Dak gets in the open market.

There's probably 5 teams that'd pay Dak 25 mill right now

Dak has little value outside of the Cowboys
If true, it will lower Prescott's contract number. The actual contract number will be based on Jerry Jones' perception of a) Prescott's value to the team and b) of how valuable he thinks Prescott is to other potential suitors.

People are under-valuing Jerry's love for outstanding character leaders

Dak has little value outside of the Cowboys

Dude is totally trolling this thread. There's not an analyst/GM/coach/player that takes Beathard, McCarron, or McCoy over Dak and a reasonable contract.

This is the same kind of guy that sees the 2 point conversion to the wide open receiver last night and truly believes he could've made that pass.

You would pay the 26th tanked QB 25 mil a year huh?

Lol, this board cracka me up sometimes
its not what i would pay LOL it what the Market has set for QBs and Agents will have bargaining chips for QBS, I said 20mil BTW..

but if hes earns the other 5 in production escalators then he earned it.. you arent getting a starting QB who has won as many games as he has with a ROY trophy and two playoff and division winner out of 3 years for less then 20..

so Dak is worth Brady money ?
bradys worth 28mil bro he took a discount , his wife make more then he does and he isn't greedy..

the market says a starting QB with Daks 3 years of W-L and playoff appearances and division titles and ROY award in his first 3 years..its the market Carr got 25 mil , JImmyG was way overpaid , alex smith is in Dak territory he got 23, it isn't what they are worth, its what the market bares out..

so Dak is worth Brady money ?
No, but neither are any of the other guys right around the $20m mark. Hence, the QB market is inflated.

Brady always makes his money in guarantees and bonuses anyways. His cap hit isn't reflective of what he makes.

Personally I would cut Dak and get a 5 million QB with the same production

Dak is not worth anywhere near 20 mil a year...

Sign a Colt McCoy, CJ Beathard, AJ Mcaron for $4 million and use the rest of that money on what really matters....our defense
Zig while the rest of the league Zags. I would be all for that. It would demoralize the team, and it would be a huge PR disaster from all the talking heads. I really only like AJ Mccarron or Chase Daniels the Bears backup.
I really hope one team says no to these escalating QB contracts. Im all for the Russell Wilson making big money but not Sam Bradford and qb's of his skill level.

I know it's his rookie deal but man has Dak been a class act and team first guy.

He was the rookie of the year and an MVP candidate his 1st year in the league.

Despite people talking more about his struggles than success' he has had a very impressionable winning record. He wins and I don't want to hear because everything else that's around him is making him. It's a team game and to win in this league you need the whole team around you. Sometimes you have to come through for the team and sometimes the team has to come through for you.

The whole teams job is to give one another a chance to take the game. That's every team in the league. Even Drew Brees has everything around him. If not you have seen some of the records he's had in the last 5 seasons. Winning and losing.

Jerry is right in Dak deserves a "pay day and will get it". He goes to the Superbowl like he told those kids he will be playing in it you better believe he deserves more than Kirk Cousins money.

Believe me on another thing. The team will not have a problem keeping or getting other players. The cap is very workable from this point on and it's just signing the right players the right way and always developing depth and young talent. So to hear this "if Dak gets too big of a contract we can't keep talent around him" is hillarious.

What big money free agents have we signed since we drafted Dak? None! We drafted and developed what we drafted. We signed and made small trades for depth and role players. Until Amari who fits our model. Young and talented, big ceiling for the pick. We are witnessing what he is already capable of doing and his ceiling is still not hit. Do not think Dak's ceiling has been hit either and I can't believe people think this guy has no arm or accuracy. Timing and cohesiveness are developing. Opposing teams are putting him in his utmost difficult circumstances and he's learning from them. This weekend he faces a team full of coaches that know him well. Here's another test.

Bottom line he deserves to get paid and we'll know better by the end of the season to next.
