Are you enjoying this?

For those who don't get where I'm coming from, consider the second Philly game.

Sure, we won, and that was great as usual. But did anyone actually enjoy that game? I didn't think it was a good game. I thought it was 3 quarters of our typical offensive ineptitude, and our defense thankfully pulled Philly into the mud with us. Both offenses looked like junk until some lucky pot shots made the final stat sheets look ok and Dallas won.

I'd bet we all enjoyed that Philly game more than Rams fans enjoyed their Philly game.

You seem like the only things you'd enjoy are 30 point blowout wins or 54-51 games, both of which are rarities in the NFL.

Ah, not at all. I have not made myself clear.

I like defensive games. I want 80s/90s old school ball to come back.

But the fact of the matter is, it wont. This is the high octane era.

If Dallas never scored over 21 but still made playoffs, I'd be ok. You don't need 35 points for it to be a "good game". If you only score 21, do it with authority. For once.

Instead, tumble down the field 3 yards at a time until we get ref help. Then we kick a FG at the 30. If by some miracle we fumble it into the red zone, we have two options: trust our best player to punch it in by himself or stall out and get a FG.

It's just awful offense to watch.

Meanwhile, on nearly any given play, KC has 3 guys running routes at least as complex as anything we ever show

Man did you guys watch the Cowboys in the 90'a at all!! Borrrring!! Emmit left, Emmit right, Emmit up the middle. Holy, Aikman rarely threw for more than 250 yards/game. His career average is only 230. You want chuck it deep for excitement, don't watch DC football. Now the CFL... that's freakin boring. Madden used to say "it may not be exciting to watch but it works".

Is anyone enjoying watching Dallas play?

This just occurred to me in another thread. As usual I haven't missed a dallas game this year, but I'm enjoying watching other teams play much more.

So I'm just curious. How many of you watch other teams play? How many of you are, like me, enjoying those other games more?

Of course the final win or loss means much more to me for Dallas, but the actual act of watching the game, so many other teams are actually enjoyable to watch, even if we are a playoff team.

We just look like idiots with the way we can't move the ball and can't score and have this scheme that looks putrid when you actually watch other teams play.

Sometimes I watch how other offenses work and I'm not convinced Dallas is even playing the same sport right now. We look like the NFL version of when a Latin American country sends people to the winter olympics. We're there, it's technically the same game, but we have no idea how to play it like the top teams do.
so what you rather LOOK GOOD lie many team s who have bad records and not sniffing the playoffs like what Cleveland etc then our own team who is on the verge of playoff Birth and Division crown for the 2nd time in 3 years?? Looking great and actually winning are two different things Tamps Offense looks like worlfd beaters at times, losing record..no thanks

if you dont enjoy it cancel your account and move on …..:) they can be frustrating at times but beating Washington, eagles twice, NOs , and now chance to meet the first goals all team set out to do at seasons beginning, ie 1. win division, two get in playoffs...

Did the 90s team display a totally frustrating ineptitude on offense and then somehow pull a win out?

Or did they get their modest stats with authority and quality execution to systematically dismantle opponents?

That's the difference.

So if we're like a South American team in the Winter Olympics, would that make the Cardinals like a no armed, no legged guy named Bob competing in the 100m butterfly stroke?

I never said I wasn't happy about our record right now.

I just said the games along the way have not been very entertaining to watch.

We look like idiots out there, idiots that sometimes win.

See the best O-line ever assembled that's the difference. Run Emmit right, left or up the middle and teams couldn't stop it man. Zeke has had an amazing season and I like watching him run. Flat out. Could we use a Larry Allen, Nate Newton, Erik Williams yepper. We had that in 2016, not in 2018

Only if the pool was frozen over. Then they would be called Skates ;). It's winter Olympics get with the program lol

It’s interesting because the quality of NFL games this year has really increased IMO. With new emerging stars like Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield, LVE, Darwin Cook, Saquon Barkley and many others, the NFL got an infusion of great young talent that made the game more interesting this year.

I have enjoyed the Cowboys this year more than last year. Last year, the cloud hanging over Zeke’s suspension just seemed to take the fun out of the season. Seeing the defense emerge with a LVE stepping up along with the addition of Amari Cooper has made this season a lot more fun. Of course this season will get even more fun if the Cowboys can win at least two playoff games.

Sure. Idc. I'm not the one who started the comparison of this team to one of the greatest teams of all time.

Idc who or why. This isn't a blame thread. The oline, dak, jason, Scott, jerry, the water boy, pick your poison.

The fact of the matter is that the Dallas offense is about the worst offense to watch right now in terms of general game quality.

Your first paragraph is the kicker. Seems better across the league in general, and then there's Dallas.

Love your threads Bob. Also like the eternal optimism viewpoint.
My inner Andy Dufrain (sp?) and his classic movie lines regarding how hope was a good thing comes to mind in these trying times as a Boys fan.
It's just that hope ain't the best x's and o's strategy when facing superior coaching minds and carrying an inferior field general into battle on a weekly basis. Hope only gets us so far...lol.

I don't care anywhere near as much as I have for decades. The ups and downs of this franchise over the past 20 years just wears on you as a fan. It's just not that enjoyable any more. Apathy is the worst thing that can happen to a fanbase, or anything for that matter.

I’m not posting in this thread to argue with you....if you think we’re ugly to watch, so be it.
But I’m not convinced you’re being objective, and you’re definitely speaking in hyperbole.

Case in point- post quoted above.

In fact, the general theme of your posts in this thread is to focus specifically on what’s unappealing about Dallas, and then focus on what is appealing about pretty much every other team.

Overall we’ve had one of the best defenses in the entire league this year, but when they play fantastic football and hold off the opposition you characterize it as them “dragging the other team into the mud with us”. And when we get big plays on offense, it’s characterized as “we sucked until we got lucky on a couple pot shots”. I mean c’mon man.
