Charlton is wasted draft pick

One thing that stands out negatively to me is he seems to have a very low motor. Very slow. I think he was definitely a reach where they picked him and it's not even close.

i always make an effort to watch him. he was terrible yesterday. he's also got the body language of someone who doesn't care about football. i don't know how he passed the mental eval with our scouts.
Yeah, reminds me of Marcellus Bennett. No fire. I know it’s early but I hope we can trade him for some value. I don’t think he wants to play for this team so it’s better to let him go early before his value goes to zero.

This is his 2nd year.

Taco is developing, and is having trouble making the field. This is a good thing. He can develop and earn a spot, or he will be really good depth.

Two or three years in the weight room and getting experience might make him a superstar.

Guys who come into the league and dominate are rare, and they go at the top of the draft.

The draft is crapshoot. No crystal balls to assure anything. Right now, Taco was not worth the pick. I doubt he ever will be.

Post like these are exhausting..

I distinctly remember some stating Jaylon and Gregory as wasted picks. Both players basically fought their *** off yesterday to hand us a NFC East title! Lets not forget, before this season, Bryon was considered a bust also..

Give the guy a chance to overcome whatever is holding him back..

Stat wise.. Taco had more combined tackles (AND a TFL)than anyone else on our DL yesterday after not playing for several weeks. C’mon man. Smh

The only player I’m super down on this year is David Irving. But, if he can make it back for the playoffs and wreck the opponent... then all will be forgiven on my end.

He did a decent job playing the Crawford role after Crawford went down.

Putting lipstick on a pig. Taco has shown NO SIGNS of first round capability. It's a problem.

He's different from the other DEs on the roster. Gregory, DLaw and Armstrong are explosive, twitchy athletes. Taco while athletic is more of a lumbering DE. I wasn't closely watching but my initial thought was he played well yesterday.

I was all in on Reuben Foster.so I would've gotten burned also.
But as far as the Charlton vs Watt argument goes I would've taken Watt and worried about scheme fit in training camp. I take talent over scheme fits.

I didn’t rewatch the game, admittedly.

But he’s had worse games. He had 5 tackles and a TFL yesterday. I saw him pop out a couple times.

Surely a disappointment though...odd game to call him out though.

5 tackles for a 4-3 DE who is a backup. That's pretty good production. Armstrong has had no more than 2 in any game

Hitting it big Gregory and Smith, both 2nd round picks makes up for missing on Taco...

i was rewatching the game this morning since I do not have to work today and was watching all of charltons snaps. the guy gets no push whatsoever. I just wonder what was the scouting department thinking when they drafted him. Armstrong needs to be active in playoffs instead of Charlton. the guy cannot stop the run or even get close to qb. I guess you cannot hit every first round pick.
Was watching him yesterday and he plays with no energy. He is not a fit for a Marinelli Hustle type D.

I find it really hard to believe Watt wouldn't be a better DE than Taco. I think that's a fan cop out excuse to avoid admitting it was a terrible draft pick.

Anyone who was a fan of the Gregory pick should have been Watt over Taco all the way.

The questions about Watt playing well in a 4-3 scheme inherently have not been answered. He's in a good place.

The questions about Taco playing well are not encouraging, but let's be real... we do this EVERY season with one or more of our draftees... Byron this time last year was getting similar treatment by fans predisposed to making ultimate judgments.

I'm giving Taco 2019 before I'm going to go there.

And I need to correct myself... Broaddus, fwiw, said Taco played very well yesterday.

He's not the brightest bulb in the box.
