How sad is it to see the offense sucking, when the Cowboys finally have a good defense (currently #6 in the NFL)?

Against Tampa Bay, the Cowboys defense scored 7 points on the fumble return, and essentially scored another 7 with the Tampa turnover deep in the red zone. On its own, the Cowboys offense scored just 13 points- against one of the worst defenses in the league (Tampa defense ranked #24). Tampa's D gives up an average of 28.7 points per game.

The previous week, against a defense that gives up an average of 21.8 points per game, the Cowboys offense scored zero.

In the last 2 games, the Cowboys offense has essentially scored an average of 6.5 points per game.

The possible culprits (GM, coaches, players) have been discussed ad nauseam. Regardless, this offense is not inspiring confidence for a play-off run.

Nevertheless, enjoy these last 2+ games. It will be the off-season before you know it!

sadly...this is old news. we all know the offense stinks. can't fix it till the off-season.

It’s frustrating that this team just can’t get it all together at the same time. First, they were all pass, with no consistent run game and no defense. Then they got the run game and the quarterback got hurt, still no defense. Now they’ve finally got the defense and still have the running game and the passing game isn’t there.

To borrow a phrase from the late, great Roseanne Rosannadanna, "If it ain't one thing, it's another...it's always something". Our offense is what it is for now. Hopefully a new OC helps out with that next year. Meanwhile, hopefully the D can carry the O.

Are you sure? Cause I just read another weekly (when we win) "Roll" of an analysis that says the team's really coming together for a playoff run.

I have faith in Garrett to put it all together this post season!!

This is a defensive team and that's how we will win games.

Just accept that our weakness is offense and our strength is defense.

It's kind of encouraging in a way... if the offense gets just hot enough to be called "average", the defense can carry this thing the rest of the way. We don't need much.

I've got Dallas at 50/50 odds to win it all if the offense puts up 21 each postseason game. That's not much but I think it's enough that this team has coin flip odds of winning it all.

Come playoff time we will come alive. We have a Offense that can produce. And we will. But Linehan needs to call effective plays in the red zone. When your 1st and goal at the 3 then don’t call 3 pass plays. Call a sneak or a dive. Quick hitting run play. Stop being dumb.

I will say that Tampa held NO to 3 points in the first half and NO and did not get going until a blocked punt in the 3rd qtr

I don't think Tampa is a terrible team, just poorly coached and their team is murphys law this year. They absolutely don't know how to win!

That said, our offense is pretty pathetic!

That’s not how it works. You can’t take points off the board because they had favorable position, anymore then you can put them on the board for things like blocked fgs etc
Exactly. That's what a good defense does. Gives you favorable field position.

Offense stinks for sure but no reason to make it worse than it is. Its trash.

I get what you're saying, I do and I would like to see more. But honestly, why did we need to score more? We've scored enough to win those games and in the BIG scheme of things that is what is important.
That is why Dak and JG will keep their jobs, I believe.

We don't need to have a high flying, 500 yards per offense. You only need 1 more point that the next team. We get the "W" and I'm fine with whatever the score is.

Now I do agree with you that we've missed a bunch of opportunities to put up points, I'd say it's about 25% Dak, 25% execution and 50% OC including the scheme and/or lack there of.

You don’t fix offensive woes this late in the season. You just have to hope this D keeps offenses to 14-17 points
