Pathetic Offense Last 2 Games. 6.5 PPG? Some sad facts

There definitely appears to be a conscious change in the mindset. They do "one thing" between the twenties and then something completely different inside the twenties. And none of it in a good way.

I don't put all of it on the coordinator, but he certainly gets the lion's share of blame from me. He still doesn't know the team he has and what they're built to do and he's content to allow defense's to dictate to him what he can and can't do. That's a loser's mentality.

It's stupid. We're not going to win every game with this offense. The Colts are a very good team. And we beat Tampa! We're trending up!

Ok, so back to the OP's original point--the offense is responsible for 10 points a game the last 2 games. That's a troubling trend heading in the playoffs.

Using your statement in bold--will 10 points a game be "enough to win" playoff games?

I'll be shocked if it is. As a reference--since going back to 2008 season (that's 110 playoff games in the NFL playoffs) only 9 times in those 110 games has the winning team scored less than 20 points.

I agree, that they need to change things up. I just think one big thing is getting Dak outside in doing that it puts pressure on the DB who now have to choose between coverage or coming up and preventing him from running. This team was a top 7 team in the redzone just last season I know they are capable of more than they have shown this season.
 
Garrett/Linehan are trash , the end zone results are just another result of the predictable vanilla playbook and play calling .

It's kind of encouraging in a way... if the offense gets just hot enough to be called "average", the defense can carry this thing the rest of the way. We don't need much.

I've got Dallas at 50/50 odds to win it all if the offense puts up 21 each postseason game. That's not much but I think it's enough that this team has coin flip odds of winning it all.

Unfortunately, 21 points seems to be a lot to ask of this offense.

It's impossible to score "1 more point" than the other team, when you get shut out. ;)

Secondly, you can't "uncount" a score by the offense on a short field. While the defense set it up, the offense did score.

Third, you have to consider situational football. The offense goes into a very conservative mode once the game becomes out of reach of the other team because ball protection becomes more important at that point.

The offense is a bit lethargic. That much is undeniable. There is enough to complain about on offense without making things up to attempt to make a fallistic argument in favor or your position.

The only "Opportunity to score", and "ToP taken away" is the time the other offense had the ball before the defensive score, which wasn't much. Plus, that opportunity to score is also an opportunity to fail to score, which is has proven to be the more likely outcome this season.

so more cant let it go knee jerk over one shutout since 2003 and we cant score point already? let it go..EVERY and I mean every game is new , its week to week league, one week a team looks SB bound the next week begin beat by the underdog.. each game takes on a life of its own, bounces, refs calls, weird block or a guy falls down and the game goes south in hurry forum all the predictions..this NFL is one of the toughest to predict week in and week out do the parody. we may it up 40 on seatle or lose by 40 no one really knows..its why we play the games..

Seems that way lately for sure.

To me, in my mind, it's everything this postseason. Can the offense have a 4 game "hot" streak (mild heat by most team's standards)? If so, this team can win it all. That doesn't mean they will but like I said I'd give it coin flip odds if this offense can put up a paltry 21 per game for 4 games.

12 TDs on offense in 4 games. That's the mark for me.

Relax brother, I was just making the point that we can't depend on the defense to win the games for us every week, no matter how little the offense scores.
