Isn’t it great

Yes, Jerry thanks Cooper.
Now go hire a real football GM, HC, OC, QBC and re-sign Richards while your at it.
Then the majority of the Zone will gladly send you a bottle of JW Blue Label for your retirement party so we may eventually start competing for Championships again.

Jerry is a Driller, that's what Jerry was born to do......Jerry drills holes, that's why he is a billionaire.
Oilmen are gamblers, they take chances, and role the dice out in the dirt, rather than inside a clean casino.
I will gladly suck up that 25 suumpin,, I forgot, doesn't matter...
We at least just advance into the playoffs and I got ole JJs back., already...
but I wont ever forgive you for kicking dear OleTom right square in the business..

Tom as in Landry? It is kind of funny because many fans were wanting Landry to be fired before Jerry ever bought the team. They claimed the game had passed him by yet when it did happen many of the same turned on Jerry.

They saw Watkins who they liked once that fell through I don't think there was much out there that would have helped more than what we had. So they were willing to go into the season with Austin, Beasley, Hurns and Gallup. Jerry ultimately did what needed to be done and caught hell for it.
I loved the trade, still do. I just don't need to rub it into people's faces. I'm to busy complaining about Garrett.

Isn’t it great that after a 3-5 start Jerry went out and did something about the anemic WR corps? It took big juevos to go out and give up a #1 pick for a player of great need. 90% of this board complained about the pick. Now those same posters are totally silent about it. Not only did Cooper turn around this offense but he has also give the team a big shot of energy and more importantly confidence. Kudos to Jerry, Stephen, Garrett and McClay for having the guts to make the trade.

Well, they made a mistake, they corrected it.

Ya that's interesting when you think about that time, and that is true, I remember it that way but any fan that was fortunate enough to witness the Landry era, remembers a true Icon, of America culture, transcending sports.

I will be as soon as his butt is fired!!!! If he wins the SB, it'll be because he got tired of me complaining and he finally did something!! Lol!!

I would rather see him spite you and win to be honest. lol I will say regardless of what may happen he has been given every opportunity I also know it will not matter who gets hired a portion of this board will be down on him day 1 for the simple reason it is not who they would have hired.

I agree. I was raised on Tom Landry and it was hard. I also knew that Jerry was putting everything he had at risk and if I was in his shoes putting all I had at risk then I would bring in people I felt could do the job. He had no prior experience with Landry but people he knew in football he turned to them.

That's part of being a HC. My second year as a HC, we went 10-2. Won the schools first two championships in over 40 years and a prominent local family wanted me gone because their kid didn't make all district. I guarantee Garrett doesn't give a crap about all his haters. I never did, if anything, it served as fuel to keep winning.

It was just an immature move..."initial move" upon acquiring ownership,, it was an immature Jerry Jones move, that sounds kinda crazy now...lol

Give us another Ring Jerry, and just watch how popular you get... everybody loves a winner,,,

Landry was born and raised a few miles down the road from my home. Played in the stadium named after him several times. The first time was special, big game, big win and looking up at the name of my childhood idol.

Management has done a nice job this year from drafting, to signing Richard, to FA and shoring up the O-line, to the Cooper trade.

Blimey, this board would've been an absolute riot at that time, wouldn't it? Glad I wasn't born yet haha.

Part of the deal was that he would fire Landry. Bright wanted him gone but didn't have the guts.

Ignorant fans would point that out. Smart fans would point out 5-2

Really smart fans would dig deeper than 5-2 (and it's actually 6-2) with Cooper.

1-2 vs teams 9-6 or better. The Cowboys scored a total of 27 points in those 3 games - 9 points per game.

5-0 vs teams 8-7 or worse. The Cowboys scored 136 points in those games - 27 points per game.

Hmmm...how many .500 teams do you expect to play in January?
