Uh huh, and how exactly does that demonstrate that he "turned around this offense?" Wins and losses hide a lot of information. Do you really think that a team that beats the Eagles in overtime at home is dramatically different from the team that loses in overtime to the Texans on the road?

The Cowboys have one really impressive win this season: the Saints game. And that was not the offense's doing. They also have three bad losses, against the Seahawks, Colts and Titans. Two of those came with Cooper on the team. The last two weeks, they were shut out (!) by the Colts, and played a pretty lousy offensive game outside of one drive against the Bucs, who happen to have an awful defense. How is that a demonstration of "turning around this offense?"

Trade worked out very well in our favor. Props.

If only the FO hadn't just told everyone that #1 WR's are overrated and unnecessary just a few months earlier.

When it looked like a top 10 pick, I was right there with you.

Now, with the pick being in the mid-to-late 20s and not a great draft (outside of some impactful defensive linemen in the very top of the draft), I've made peace with it. We're probably talking about missing out on a Taco Charlton caliber player.

Yes, because without Amari the Eagles would have keyed on the run like everyone did before he arrived. Elliot had 151 yards rushing against the Eagles and 54 against the Texans, that isn't a cooincidence.

Look, Cooper's a good player. He's helped the offense, no doubt, but I don't think the hyperbole voiced here and elsewhere is justified. The offense isn't fixed, and it's not leaps and bounds better than it was before the trade.

In the last two games, the offense has produced one TD drive. And that includes a home game against one of the very worst defenses in football. That's a fact that you've got to contend with before arguing that Cooper has "turned around this offense."

Sure Jerry deserves some credit for the Cooper move. But let’s keep it in perspective. Jerry making a good move these days and getting credit for it is like a baseball player hitting .125 and being named an all star.

That's true but 50% of the problem is the OL and another 50% was defenses keying on the run because we didn't have any receivers. Amari fixed half of that and pretty much won the Commanders and 2nd Eagles games by himself with more than 200 recieving yards in each of those games.

The fact we have backups at Center and Guard with Tyron banged up is still the major problem IMO. Also Lael Collins was really off early in the year but seems to have righted the ship.

Does it take guts to mortgage the future? It's gonna feel good before you start making the mortgage payments. We basically paid a 1st to try Cooper out for half a year and give him a free agent money extension.

We'll see how people are feeling about the trade on the first day of next year's draft.

They deserve credit for judging Cooper's skill. He's good.

Or a Travis Frederick type player.
 
It's just a bad time to post this thread because the Cowboys offense has probably looked their worst of the season in these last two weeks.

6.5 points per game impress anyone?

I was certainly upset at first, didn't like the trade at all. Love that I was proven wrong. Cooper is a much better player than I realized and the FO deserves a great deal of credit for the bold move.
 
Or, there were some that were not too pleased with the idea of giving up a first for him, but then stated that it was a brilliant idea all along. One of those chaps has antlers.....I wonder who that was....

Makes you wonder why they thought they liked the guys they had in the offseason, though, right?
