Tom as in Landry? It is kind of funny because many fans were wanting Landry to be fired before Jerry ever bought the team. They claimed the game had passed him by yet when it did happen many of the same turned on Jerry.

Ya that's interesting when you think about that time, and that is true, I remember it that way but any fan that was fortunate enough to witness the Landry era, remembers a true Icon, of America culture, transcending sports.

I would rather see him spite you and win to be honest. lol I will say regardless of what may happen he has been given every opportunity I also know it will not matter who gets hired a portion of this board will be down on him day 1 for the simple reason it is not who they would have hired.

I agree. I was raised on Tom Landry and it was hard. I also knew that Jerry was putting everything he had at risk and if I was in his shoes putting all I had at risk then I would bring in people I felt could do the job. He had no prior experience with Landry but people he knew in football he turned to them.

That's part of being a HC. My second year as a HC, we went 10-2. Won the schools first two championships in over 40 years and a prominent local family wanted me gone because their kid didn't make all district. I guarantee Garrett doesn't give a crap about all his haters. I never did, if anything, it served as fuel to keep winning.

It was just an immature move..."initial move" upon acquiring ownership,, it was an immature Jerry Jones move, that sounds kinda crazy now...lol

Give us another Ring Jerry, and just watch how popular you get... everybody loves a winner,,,

Landry was born and raised a few miles down the road from my home. Played in the stadium named after him several times. The first time was special, big game, big win and looking up at the name of my childhood idol.

Management has done a nice job this year from drafting, to signing Richard, to FA and shoring up the O-line, to the Cooper trade.

Part of the deal was that he would fire Landry. Bright wanted him gone but didn't have the guts.

Really smart fans would dig deeper than 5-2 (and it's actually 6-2) with Cooper.

1-2 vs teams 9-6 or better. The Cowboys scored a total of 27 points in those 3 games - 9 points per game.

5-0 vs teams 8-7 or worse. The Cowboys scored 136 points in those games - 27 points per game.

Hmmm...how many .500 teams do you expect to play in January? :huh:
