My thoughts. Who is Dak?

Dak seems to be in his 2016 groove and shaken the ghosts of last years atlanta game. I see him playing a game like he did in the 2016 playoff game against green bay. If he does, the seahawks game will be his 1st playoff victory as he has the defense to help him out this time.

I've posted these numbers in a couple of other threads, but to me, this is the stuff that just can't be coached:

4th qtr/OT, margin 8 points or less, 2016-18

1 Brady 132 of 193 1816 yd 11 td 1 int 115.1
2 Prescott 169 of 257 2222 yd 16 td 2 int 110.4
3 Wilson 157 of 245 2074 yd 18 td 3 int 110.1
4 Rthlsbrgr 161 of 233 1986 14 td 3 int 109.8
5 Brees 177 of 247 2053 yd 17 td 6 int 109.3

Nice numbers for Dak but who makes these stats up? Why 8 points or less? Why not 7 or 3 or 10 or tied game?

Dak is a gamer at the QB position. He’s not a precision passer or a technician. Hopefully he’ll get better in those areas. But more times than not, he finds a way to get it done.

If there’s a comparison to Tebow, it’s that. He just finds a way.

Dak Prescott is not qualified to start as a QB for any NFL team including America's team.....he is a Grade D QB and I'll let Dak prove it to you come this coming weekend.....beating a Dead Giants team once again changed 0 concerning Dak inept talent levels....

Pappydog eagerly wishing and hoping for Dak to have a bad game against Seattle so that he can be proven right. And if Dak some how plays a good game on Saturday, Pappy will come up with excuses to discredit Dak and say that the Cowboys won in spite of him,

By the way, the same Dak haters who discredits Dak's performance due to the Giants D being bad. Would have most likely been praising Cooper Rush if he had the same performance against the Giants Defense. And would have used such a performance to say that Dak Sucks and how this is proof that Cooper Rush or another QB should be the starter for the Cowboys,

Because he’s only one twice when down by 10, all on 2016, meaning they do it because this claim he’s clutch won’t fly. 10 is logical reference point, because it’s two scores, meaning you don’t just have to get in FG position in the fourth to win.

Dak doesn’t have to be within 8 within this manipulation of stats, he just has to be within 1 or 2. Meaning how many of those wins are by 8 down in the fourth, let alone being down by at least 10 during the game?

What actually happens is Dallas plays it extremely close until the fourth, in part because Dak is mediocre and can’t build up any significant lead offensively. And the defense is normally playing dominant.

These other QBs on the other hand also have multiple blowout wins, where their play had their teams up in the fourth dominating.

Eli Manning outplayed Dak all second half and I was told by a Dak homers he was trash, to the point they took the lead. It was the defense that finally forced the Giants on a three and out giving the ball to Cowboys.

And again, dude was in a fourth and fifteen meaning not a very successful drive. It’s not like three drives weren’t wasted and the Giants could have simply won by playing prevent, rushing three and giving Dallas the checkdown.

That was basically a desperation street ball throw. But apparently this game supposedly proves Dak is the man.

I’m not sure what it does for Eli against a much better defense though.

Really? The QB who tossed an interception in the redzone outplayed someone?

Last I checked on this forum, Dak should have had three INTs in the first half. And Eli and the Giants took the lead.

I did see him throw a checkdown on a free play though. That was a thing of beauty..

Should have INT's are not INT's. It's the same as saying that we almost scored.

And Eli still got them the lead despite the red zone INT. Not sure what your point is when your judging QB play. Eli probably didn’t throw a checkdown on a free play either..

First and foremost I'm not a Dak-zoid therefore I live in a realm of football reality. As a Cowboy fan Win is the name of the game whoever and whenever we play never ever doubt this about the Pappy!
Now would our task at hand be easier if we had a Qualified QB under center the Pappy says yes and to add I consider Dak a major Liability for our team and the prime reason our passing attack this season has been bottom 5 of the NFL....now may Dak play like Dan Marino and John Elway combined come Saturday night heck ya bud ....but honestly not a big believer of MIRACLES .......

Tebow had "it" too.
So what exactly does "it" mean?
“It”is a nebulous factor that people can glorify their pet cat with without actually knowing what “it” is. “It” is all things good rolled into a term that hides what “it” is.

You can tell you got caught up in your underwear in excitement over Dak with the Romo line which is completely false and actually surprised me coming from you, but other than that - good post.

Let's see what the sentiment is if he struggles in a playoff game and loses next week because for some around here, a QB is only measured by Super Bowl wins which is insane.

Not at all as those who follow what i post will be the first to say i dont get overly excited or overly upset over wins or loses. and especially over players. Because im a fan of the team, not of specific players. I was critical of him vs the Colts and i was put in a box with the regular crying posters.

I think about the game played that day and move on to the next. Today he played a great game. And it just made me think that this guy just wins games. Wins big close games. And when the game is on the line, the coaches have no problems putting the ball in his hands.

This kinda goes back into what Darren Woodson has said this past week. And for me when the game is close and Dak has the ball there isnt a time where i say this team is going to lose. Because since his first game as a pro vs the Giants i dont think he's lost one of them games.

I like that about him, I like how the young defense steps up and doesnt lose games the way they did in previous yrs.

For me this is just an exciting time to be a Cowboys fan, because they are so young, and they seem to be building the team in a way that they can sustain this success unlike before where they were keeping players too long. And the team is showing that those days are over, as how they moved on from Bryant, and how they've been quietly moving on from Lee. I like what i see.

Now if this kind of excitement i have about the team im a fan of bothers you or pushes you to feel the need to throw a subtle shot then so be it. Because next weekend ill be the same way. Enjoying the team i been rooting for since i saw hershal walker run over the patriots.

Before anything that involves stats or accuracy, the thing that jumps out at me is he's a Leader and a Winner. He was drafted in the 4th round, so clearly he needed work. But after 3 yrs, he has had more success and better stats then any QB from his draft.

So while fans can cry and gripe about him not being accurate, him not having pocket awareness. In big games he shows up and wins. In big situations he wins. At the end of games, he wins. What more do fans need? Do we need 400yrds and 4Tds and a loss, or a balanced attack that just wins games? Fantasy football and madden have warped fans brains into thinking just because they do things in a video game that its easy to play in the NFL.

Fans will compare Dak to the guy he took over for, and the favorite quote is "Romo would win a superbowl with this team". NO he wouldnt, he couldnt win a playoff game with one of the best teams in Cowboys history in 2007. They dominated on offense and defense. Dak shows better poise then Romo ever did with the game on the line. That TD pass to Beasley was amazing. And an even better catch. Dak put that ball the only place that would've been completed. It was picture perfect, and what made the catch harder wasnt the placement but Beasley lack of height. So he had to reach. A Taller WR catches it easy. But great catch by Beasley.

I know people are going to say Dak missed deep throws today that would've been TDs. SO WHAT!! he took the team to TDs on those drives anyways. He missed a guy but overcame that and drove the team down and scored TDs on perfect reads to Jarwin and the game winner to Beasley.

He balled out today without Tyron and Martin and Elliot. The game was in Daks hands and he nailed it. The defense was abused but Dak put the team on his back and won the game. The game winner, he alludes a sack and throws it while taking the hit with a perfect placement, when the team needed it. Last down, he either makes that throw or they lose. And the outcome was the same as its been his whole professional career. A win when the games on the line and they need a TD. Daks doing something the team hasnt had since Aikman. A QB who could win you the game late. And no Romo never gave them that.
I was going to say something like this but no need now, you nailed it. Nuff said. :hammer:

I think today stated this is Prescott's team.

Crazy in a way, but that is what the message said.

Now how all the errant passes, poor pocket awareness and failure to understand coverages factor into that is anyone's guess.
