TOP.

Not sure why no one is talking about it, but it was a huge reason we won yesterday as well as several other times this year.

Our first drive was like 6 min. SEA 3 n out. Then more TOP.

At the end, the SEA O had a horrific time getting traction and our D was kept fresh.

They could not catch a rhythm and they came to DAL expecting to be the team to dominate TOP. You could see the frustration on Carroll's face all night. "Who do these guys think they are? Us?".

TOP worked in the Cowboys favor because SEA was really poor at POP, Points Off Possessions. That has backfired on the Cowboys before because most HC's are more focused on the POP than the TOP. SEA was also very poor in 3 n outs during the regular season and brought that with them to DAL.

The hubris written on Carrol's face was pretty disgusting. Glad we wiped that smirk off his face.

Yeah, the one thing about the defense is they can be playing well, locking things down....and then bam, they give up 2-3 big plays right in a row. Fortunately they held them to FG early.

Our offense was a little better last night at finishing....despite taking penalties we still put it into the end zone. That was huge. Might be some of the work they got against the Giants paid off.

We dominated them the entire game save less than a handful of plays..

We dropped 5 key passes throughout the game, 3 by Brown. The Seahawks were getting away with penalties left and right for 3.98 quarters.. It should have been a blowout..

Dak would Not Be Denied...

Top is definitely to our advantage.

People want Linehan to be more aggressive. I agree, for the most part. But it does behoove this team to play slow and steady. It may not be flashy but it works.

As we are told by stat geeks like AdamJT13, that "running has no correlation with winning" so TOP can't be that important LOL

Maybe they should play or at least watch the game instead of touting stats from their moms basement

He has had that same smirk as long as I can remember, back to his days with the Jets and USC. Always good to see him lose. What was even better was his face on those pass interference calls...which were both 100% legit PI...he was in disbelief.

Pretty harsh.

THe reality is TOP and running aren't the deciding factor. It's scoring TDs. Holding the ball forever and kicking FG's or turning it over is worthless.

If we just could have eliminated the big plays Wilson was able to get with Baldwin and Lockett... it would have been another New Orleans type of performance for the D
Right, I was really disappointed in our secondary play

I agree with TOP.

I also believe it was because our field position was way better than the last time we played them which helps greatly in play calling and time TOP.

The Seahawks are experts in Field Position, TOP, Turnovers, Penalization and Big/Clutch Play Capitalization.

That wasn't a turnover, it was actually a pass interference on their end. They are complaining about those pass interference calls that were blatant. But notice how the game changed once they started getting penalized?

Believe me, there were a lot of calls against them we didn't get. I know we had 1 face mask but that's all we got away with.

So they didn't win field position. They didn't win TOP. They really didn't win the turnover battle but were awarded it. They were penalized just as much as we were but should have been more. Our Big/Clutch plays were similar.

Our talent trumped, we were not out coached or out schemed and the game was not as close as the score showed.

*rushing effectiveness has little correlation to winning.

How you still can’t understand the argument after having it explained to you literally dozens of times is amazing to me. If you disagreed with he actual argument, it would be one thing. But you don’t even understand the argument in the first place, as this post just reinforced, again.

Right, I was really disappointed in our secondary play

This was our 1 weakness.

I'm not bagging on Woods or Heath but we need a ball hawk back there to help our corners. Heath gets there in the box but his tackles get shed too often and Woods gets there in the backfield but he doesn't come up with the ball.

I'm all for getting ET in FA.
