Linehan has tailored the offense for Dak. We run so many short crossing route as a staple of this offense, it’s not even close. We run more mid-direction and bootlegs.
I’m Dak’s first year, we ran more play action in half the season than we did in Romo’s last season, which was his highest.
We have a formula now that’s clearly working, but it’s hardly the definition of clutch. Going into the fourth quarter to play it tight, with a heavy dose of running to impose the will on defenses, playing ball control is not the definition of clutch, that’s a formula for trying to win the games.
This model of running was built off 2014 and Romo’s MVP year in Linehan’s first season. If that didn’t happen, Dallas would not have drafted Zeke. It’s all built on ONE YEAR of Romo in this offense with this play-caller.
Dak would be a total disaster with Garrett calling the plays.
