Dak is Mr Clutch!

And here I was talking about reality.
And that's fine. My only point, for the hundredth time, is that in game winning situations I feel far more confident in Dak. That isn't saying Romo sucked or wasn't usually great - but with the game on the line, Dak kicks into another gear that I'll take over Romo in that situation.

Right. It's just a feeling. It doesn't have to be based on anything real, and in fact, popular perception plays a role in there somewhere.

I know we can't run Dak too much throughout the game but man I still wish SL would play to Dak's strengths more. I still would like to see more play action and roll outs. This team has enough weapons to be putting up more points than 10 through 3 quarters

#9 was really good too.

Please do not respond to this poster. All he does is post countless thread titles about Romo then NEVER responds to anything. He's a coward who loves to post quick drive-by's but will not engage in anything because as I said, he's scared to death to get into a debate.

He's the worst poster on the board and that's saying something.

Romo had his chances with some very good teams. You act like he played for Cleveland his whole career.
Name one of these "very good" teams. Not one was thought to be a Super Bowl contender except maybe the 13-3 2007 team with a defense that was middle tier. None of his teams were ranked as high in defense as this one, none of them had an offensive line as good as this one, nor a runner as great as Zeke. That team only lost to the Super Bowl champions who beat an 18-0 team.

Defensively, he did. And his offensive lines were trash until the end when it finally got fixed. But his body had already suffered the consequences of that trash.

We are the Cowboys...We judge our QBs by how they perform in the Playoffs
Romo 1st dropped the snap; 2nd INT RW Mcquaters and 3rd Robbed Dez caught it.

Dak's Clutchness means nothing if we don't get 6th...

I am tired of the Pageantry trophies

We can agree to disagree. You are certainly entitled to your wrong opinion.

I'm a believer now. Not a pure passer, but no other QB could have made that game winning run. I'm on board.
Seriously? I know of at least ten current QBs who could have made that run. Dak will never win a SB because he resorts back to bad throwing habits when pressured, &/or bails out of the pocket too soon, even when there is little pressure. He fails to find wide open targets again & again.

Linehan has tailored the offense for Dak. We run so many short crossing route as a staple of this offense, it’s not even close. We run more mid-direction and bootlegs.

I’m Dak’s first year, we ran more play action in half the season than we did in Romo’s last season, which was his highest.

We have a formula now that’s clearly working, but it’s hardly the definition of clutch. Going into the fourth quarter to play it tight, with a heavy dose of running to impose the will on defenses, playing ball control is not the definition of clutch, that’s a formula for trying to win the games.

This model of running was built off 2014 and Romo’s MVP year in Linehan’s first season. If that didn’t happen, Dallas would not have drafted Zeke. It’s all built on ONE YEAR of Romo in this offense with this play-caller.

Dak would be a total disaster with Garrett calling the plays.
You’re so mad Dak is becoming elite. All he does is win:lmao2:

Dak played well, but he still knows it's a team sport. Giving props to the big uglies!

He will only keep getting better....we need a new O.C. though in a desperate way that knows how to use a QB like him.
It's a joke honestly...it really is.
We're so much better talent wise than so many teams that we end up barely beating. It's pathetic. SOME of it is Dak but a hell of a lot of it is Linehan.
Most of it is Dak. Linehan has been one of the best OCs in the league for years. Dak has terrible technique, bails too soon when he fails to find wide open targets down the field. Mayfield would have won that game by two TDs. He has great accuracy-Dak doesn't-period.

He ran straight up the gut and didn’t go down after first contact. I know 1 maybe 2 QBs in the entire league that can do that. Cam Newton and Lamar Jackson.

Dak throws better than both of those QBs and it’s not even close. He’s an equivalent runner as well. Keep saying he sucks. It makes you look small

Name ten QBs who could have shook off those tackles the way that he did. Many other QBs would have went down before the first down. If the Cowboys ever do win a Superbowl with Dak, then his doubters will just deflect with the team winning in spite of him, after claiming that the Cowboys would never get one with him in the first place.

Surely the whole "clutch" term is overused!

This isn't aimed at Prescott in any way just a general thought. It's like when the Patriots beat the Falcons in the SB and Brady got all the plaudits. He was poor in the first half including a pick six but then the Patriots' defense made play after play thus giving the ball to Brady again and again and again against a gassed defense. Brady is obviously a fantastic QB but if Hightower didn't make the key strip then the narrative would be completely different - Brady is too old, fathertime has caught up with him etc.

Last night our defense only allowed 2/13 third down completions. They kept giving the ball to the offense who didn't get much done until the fourth quarter when the oppositions' defense tired from continually facing plays, often involving trying to stop Elliott.

I would rather a QB who constantly played well rather than one that finally showing some consistency in the last quarter.

I will hold my hands up if I'm wrong but surely people have seen the blueprint on the road against good teams during the regular season?

That is the concern some people have and it isn't hating!

Next week will be very informative - we will find out where we are.

I could name ten QBs that would have made better throws earlier in the game which would have meant the aforementioned run wasn't needed.

That's the point - nobody disputes how good Prescott is with his legs but it's his arm that will be required to win a Superbowl

Enjoy the "clutchness" while you can. Once he gets paid and we can't afford to surround him with a top-tier roster, there won't be anymore close fourth quarter games for Dak to be "clutch" in.
