It will only take a couple of days to read stories about "Linehan is evaluating whether he wants to return...".

I doubt they fire him outright, but he has probably already lined up his next job. Probably a lower stress college gig that still pays well, its crazy what the college coaches are getting now, even college OCs.

I think that Garrett and the organization will give him every chance to find another gig before they fire him, but I don't think anybody will want him and they'll ultimately be forced to fire him.

I'm just afraid that any good candidates will have found work by then.

While we did not play to our potential tonight and playcalling was absolutely atrocious this game more than ANY this season showed how badly we're missing Frederick. Frederick in this lineup we have a totally different game. It doesn't change anything defensively but the chances WERE THERE for our offense to win this ball game. We lost by one possession though it felt like a total smackdown it honestly wasn't as far as the score is concerned.

Interviews for coaches still in the playoffs needs to be banned. You don't get a reward for your season ending early and firing your coaches the Monday after the season ends. You should have to wait to start interviewing coaches.

I wouldn’t expect him to say anything different. It’s the kind of guy he is. However, his coaching didn’t have much to do with the kind of mauling that OL put on our front 7. You aren’t going to stop an NFL RB when you can’t even maintain a gap anywhere across the board.

Let me fix this for you...

This was all on him because he didn't put more that 6 guys (DL/LBers) in the box all night long. The closest he got was dropping Jeff Heath down...but we were still in nickle all night long.

And don't get me started on getting Sean Lee important snaps. Not sure who's asinine call that was...But that was bad.

To be fair we've never faced an offense like that all year. The scheme and coaching was sublime.
They ran the ball and we never stopped it. Our Defense didn’t stop tne run? Every time we put any pressure on goff he threw bad. We never stopped the run, I can’t get over that...

The rams knew we aren't a good play action team. Theres a reason for that evidently. They took our strength of flying to the ball and used it against us. Guys were a step slow all game. Instead of reacting, they were thinking. Be curious to see a breakdown of the film if this was the case.

You go from shutting down the seattle running game last week to this? Our players just weren't ready for the type of stuff the rams were doing. Hadn't seen it before, was too much.

If you look at all the retreads in the college ranks, its pretty hard to see Linehan being unemployed. I can't see him getting an NFL job though, his time has come and gone.

That is where it all begins and ends for me. If you give up 170 yards rushing in the first half of a game, you are going to lose and lose badly. There is just no way around it.

I have to think that his reputation is out there. People know who he is and what type of individual they'd be getting. But we'll see.

That’s coach garbage to protect his players. The simple fact is,they had better players than Dallas could defend. Just man for man, they got beat and all the coaching and X’s and O’s can’t change that.
Nah. I don’t buy that when a scrub like CJ Anderson is running all over you. The D was either fatigued, not ready to play, or just plain laid an egg. But them getting run all over like that is not excusable.

Linehan and Garrett are masters of "it's not my fault" or "there was a problem with execution." In their minds, they don't make mistakes, it's all execution. Nevermind that every single player needs to play to perfection for their gameplan to execute right.

I've never seen them take any blame. There are always scapegoats. Richard acted like a man and fell on the sword for his players publicly and will probably chew them out privately. That's how a true coach handles it. They don't make excuses publicly or call players out publicly.
Bill Parcells called out players more than any coach I've ever seen...Just sayin'.
