You said this before but Dak usually looks good in those scripted plays but after that on the fly for some reason he doesn't look as good. Very strange
Because he doesn’t process quickly. That’s why he always waits too late and even Witten said on the air he’s not a progression QB.
That’s what obfuscated Dak to many. When he knows where he is going and is ‘decisive’ he can throw accurately. But when he needs to go through his progressions and see and anticipate what defenses are doing, he’s just bad. When he gets out the pocket and plays streetball, he’s better because he’s decisive in the spur of the moment and he’s not processing and reading coverages, it’s basically let me throw it to the guy that broke his route in front of me.
Watch this Collins “sack” where people just focus on the refs decision. This is a perfect illustration of having time to go through progressions and throw, but bailing and that too, right into pressure while having the whole right side open to run. It’s a progression type play where his decisions are just crappy. The guy just doesn’t seem to process quickly. Watch Mahomes play and it’s night and day. Mahomes is throwing rockets with incredibly anticipation and hitting WRs in stride way downfield.
