Wins are a QB stat

The offense scored 15 points through three quarters. The defense allowed 23 pts through three quarters. This game was well within reach, but we barely put up 22 pts at the end of the fourth. As many yards as the team allowed, they played a a bend don't break game. You have to score touchdowns, point, blank, period.

I get that you are playing devil's advocate

What you don't seem to realize is that so am I

Why are wins the only measure of a QB, until we lose?

I think even you would concede that Daks "win total" (as if he wins games single-handedly absent of the other 10 guys on the field) is regularly hailed as evidence of his greatness

You yourself alluded to that a few posts ago
I've been just playing devils advocate in this thread. I don't think Dak is great at all. I think he's a decent QB who can succeed in this league. I also trust him at the end of games. I really wish the Cowboys got a stop on that 3rd and 7. I truly believed he would have lead them down the field for a score.

Sometimes "Dak wins" and unfortunately sometimes "his team loses"

I've learned that responsibility is only assigned to him after victories. Just noting what you and others have already stated multiple times
But what does Goff winning or losing have to do with Dak and if he is good or bad.

You tried to make a point in an effort to troll people but it’s an embarrassing failure.

Didn’t your first post say that you don’t even believe the exact thing you then tried to argue.

Your not very good at this.

Ok so let's say Goff is better than Dak. Are we going to hop in a time machine and give up Zeke, Jaylon and god knows what else to get Goff? Are either Gallup or Cooper on this team? What about LVE and Chido?

How many wins you think this team would have right now if we did that?

Why give up any of those players? There are a lot of teams looking for their next great Qb. It’s called free agency, the draft and having a real competition for our next Qb. Why does Goff have to be the answer?

It’s a done by teams every single year

Dak is an average QB. But it was the defense that cost us last night. Couldn't make a stop to save their life. It was disgusting.

Hey man you started the thread so i'm paying devil's advocate. I don't think the Cowboys have had 3 straight winning seasons since the triplets. Things seem to be going in the right direction.
06-09? Wade got fired the following year, so that doesn't mean much.

or so I keep reading on this board. I don’t necessarily agree but, hey, when in Rome.....

With that in mind

Goff v Dak, in head to head games

Goff 2
Dak 0

Divisional round wins
Goff 1
Dak 0

Looks to me like Goff was the #1 pick, and Dak a 4th rounder, for a reason.
I don't get it. You don't believe wins are a QB stat (they aren't, and it's really dumb to think they are), and yet, the conclusion you draw is entirely based on the "wins are a QB stat" argument.

He’s our “clutch stud” QB!

Lulz, boyfan.
Stats and W/L record show he was a top-10 QB this year since the Cooper trade.

He’s also without question one of the most clutch QBs in football. Numbers back that up too.

Reconcile that any way you want.

Your tears will taste FANTASTIC when Dak signs his new deal.

Wins are only a QB stat when Dak "wins", according to many

I agree. It's absurd. I'm just having fun qiwi the absurdity

Reference to earlier thread about how Daks "wins" prove he's the best QB from the '16 draft

What year was Goff drafted?
What does either of Goff or Daks wins have to do with how good the other is?

I get they were drafted in the same draft but this isn’t black or white... both can be good and both can be bad. Neither success or failures mean a thing about the others success levels.

But the closest measuring stick we do have that is even remotely tangible is head to head

For example earlier this year, Prescott beat brees Head to Head. There was no talk allowed of the defense holding New Orleans to 10 points. Last week Prescott beat Wilson Head to Head. I made the mistake of suggesting that perhaps Zeke Elliott might have had something to do with it as he had 170 yards total.

Time after time on this site we were told it didnt matter.

So I figure this time it shouldn't matter either should it?

Dak single-handedly won those other games, if I am to believe the people on this forum. But apparently singling him out for responsibility s for last night's game isn't allowed

Who knew?

Dude you are everywhere and reaching far beyond where you should be.

Goff isn’t a measuring stick for Dak and Dak isn’t a measuring stick for Wentz ect.
They are all independent of each other. Goff can make the hall of fame and that doesn’t mean jack squat about Dak.

You are reaching in an attempt to troll fellow cowboys fans.
It’s kind of weak honestly.

Please, tell me you're joking. You haven't seen the dozens and dozens and dozens of threads comparing Prescott to Carson Wentz, many of them basically using the sole measuring stick of wins and losses? If you claim you haven't seen them then you are being willfully blind

And I am not trying to troll fellow Cowboys fans. I am challenging the hardcore sniffers. And their number one priority isn't being a Cowboys fan, their number one priority is making sure Dak is heralded and glorified and elevated above all else no matter what. If the Cowboys win, make sure Dak gets all of the credit. If the Cowboys lose make sure he is totally exempt from any blame. That's their modus operandi. Aside from being annoying as heck, it's also disgusting and personally offensive

You claim my point is "weak"?

Opinions vary. It sure seems to hit a nerve with a lot of people, yourself included. Not bad for a really "weak" effort

Not joking at all.
You are worried way too much about getting back at posters that don’t agree with you.

If Dak uses Goff at a measuring stick do you think Dak and his agent will enter contract negotiations with Jerry referencing what Goff or Wentz did the last few years? This isn’t how things work.
Your just all upset over other posters sticking up for Dak and liking him more than you do.

It’s weird and kind of childish.

I'm not addressing Daks agent

I'm addressing the sniffers. LOL
