Replacing Heath among top priorities

Didn't Swearinger sign with the Cards? And Tate (the cheap shot artist)? I'd bring him in just to watch Lee kick his butt. . .
Don't know about Swearinger as I wasn't the one that posted about him, the point I was making is that the way this team views free agents I wouldn't expect any significant signings, more like someone we probably never heard of that the front office thinks has upside. As far as Tate goes I'd take him over Beasly any day.

Lol...first I never said he should be starting anywhere, second, I've seen Ware and Lawerence get taking to school on fakes, it happens to the best of them. he's an average safety, but give the Rams credit for gambling on 3-7 with Geoff there.

He is below average IMO.

But again that’s why he needs to go. In the playoffs you need guys who will make that play for you. Heath isn’t that guy.

I know he's a fan favorite here and was continually ticketed as better than Byron(despite many logical explanations to the contra) from those that get sucked into flashy plays once every blue moon.

He's a big reason towards our loss on Saturday.

Luckily the safety market has cratered, and finding an upgrade for Heath should be extremely easy.

The bad thing is I would have guessed Woods led our team in missed tackles as he’s pretty bad too.

I’d like us to upgrade both safety spots if possible...certainly one of the weaker spots on our roster.

DJ Swearinger in FAgency....also Earl at FS ..draft a DT..and TE. .
Resign
Dak 15-18 mil
DLaw..
Cooper

Lee- retires
Beasley- sign if cheap or else replace through FA or draft..or Hurns
unoriginal. If Earl is the answer, I don't want to know the question. We need to go young. No players over 30...Draft success and only do FA to put us over the top. Can you really say Earl puts us over the top after another year older and a broken leg? Come on man....come on....

He sucks, he's never had a good year. He is just one of the luckiest players in the NFL. His interceptions and some of his highlight reel hits are all he has and most of those interceptions were right in his hands. He is a liability most of the time he is on the field. The only thing that keeps him looking good is 'luck'

I think ET is a forgone conclusion.

Question is, who plays with him?

I thought that about Vacarro last offseason.
Texas native who wanted to play for us, we tried trading for him the year before, and nothing. Didn't even bring him in then signs a $1.5M deal with Titans and plays really well for them. Ugh

I wish this team will stop playing a get a real safety!!! If we don't get ET or move Awuzie to free this year I'm done!
Thomas is going to be 30, undersized which has caught up with age, and has missed 2 of the last 3 seasons after breaking his ankle and has missed time in all 3. Awuzie has skills as a coverage corner and is suspect in his tackling at best. Why would they be interested in either of those moves! Plenty o safeties in the draft and money in FA not to have to resort to that!

This team has watered down the expectation for safety play. Fans now are thrilled with a guy who catches one tipped interception all year.

JEFF HEATH MAKES PLAYS!!!!!!

No, he doesn't.

he makes "play" as in singular.

One day we will have a legit safety back there and people's eyes will be opened.

Our guys should be part of the rotation in conjunction with a top S. Then you got something going on.

We have the cap space to retain all our guys.

I feel if we are able to move these certain players to one depth position lower that our team will improve immensely:
Heath
A Woods
M Collins
Gallup
Jarwin
Lmao, I was agreeing with you until you posted this. You just lost credibility lol..

So you're saying we need a star at both receiver spots and tight end? Dak really needs 3 all pros in order to succeed? Gallup played great for a late pick rookie. He's gonna ball out next year. You're also acting like Jarwin didnt catch literally everything thrown at him.

Don’t get me started on Heath. He was the worst player on the field on Saturday. I haven’t yelled at a player like that in years. Maybe since Gurode!!

When he waited for the runner 6-8 yds down field to come to him several times, and the awful angles and missed tackles.........I get mad thinking about it!

He is serviceable and really has done OK as a stop gap. But, come on man, the guy you are responsible for in man coverage is blocking down hard. QB boot all day. Would have stopped Goff and made them punt if he was a good, instinctive safety.

I am thinking of Eric Weddle of the Ravens. I feel Weddle would have went parallel to Goff during that play from the get go.
