His agent is going to ask for a ton.. If he pushed to hard then JJ can let the dice roll and let him play out his rookie deal. Same with Elliot, if we even plan on extending him.

Derek Carr has a lot of arm talent and he's in a horrible Jon Gruden offense.

If Derek Carr was our QB and he would do really well here because of the matchups on the outside he would get thanks to Zeke.

I disagree. His arm is great but he repeatedly makes head scratching decisions, even at this point in his career. I question whether he actually has the required mental aptitude required of the position.

Exactly. And they can then franchise tag Dak for 2020 if they chose to do so. They need to use the leverage they have.

If Dak isn't reasonable, he can play it out for the next two years. Minimum.

There are reasons for that.

Put Dak in that Oakland environment and see what he looks like.

In Dallas everything is optimal for a decent QB to be decent or a little better then decent.

If Derek Carr was our QB we'd be a much better passing team.

Word.

I don't really think Carr is better than Dak, necessarily, but we're not comparing like environments.

Back up material. But isn’t his guaranteed money like 70 million? When his contract is done he can pull a jamarcus russell. I think the have a out this year but have already paid carr almost 50 mil. Crazy.

:lmao2:

Dak is literally better than Carr in every single way.

Only young QBs better than are mahomes and watson. Next year when he has an o line cowboys might break the league

Carr has far more arm talent.

The throw at 1:18 Dak dreams of making that kind of throw.

I completely disagree. He had Amari Cooper for those three years, and still put up lesser numbers.

A lot of what Amari Cooper did came in a couple of games and again the environment in Dallas gets very favorable matchups in the passing game.

Dak threw 22 TD's and 7 of them came in 2 games.

Stephen is much more value conscious than Jerry was. Of course, Jerry can overrule him, but it's Stephen who made the bigger decisions on how much we should pay, and how we manage the cap lately.

And have more turnovers and bonehead plays and probably lose more games.

Dak with a top 5 o-line in 2017 led the league in touchdowns before Ezekiel Elliot got suspended and people got hurt.

People forget that he was on pace for 40ish total touchdowns 8 interceptions before the disaster after the chiefs.

Next year with his o-line back cowboys will have a top 5 offense again. Coupled with this defense? It’s over

Derek Carr does not lead this team to 6 wins this season

The same stuff can be said for every QB and every Receiver.

Every player has big games and bad games that pull their stats in either direction. So saying this is meaningless.

Yeah but his TD's are so low anyways and 7 of them coming in 2 games is really not something that should be ignored.

It's not like Zeke is scoring a bunch of TD's either.

And?

You talk as if Carr has one hand tied behind his back, and the opposite is true. Oakland is and always has been built to favor their passing game and throwing the ball down the field. Perfect for the "arm talent" you're enamored with. The same "arm talent" that team has repeatedly fallen for with the Jeff George's and Jamarcus Russell's of the world.

Too bad the arm is connected to the head.
