......I completely forgot he was ‘Bama’s OC for their 2012 Championship Team. Who was the star WR on that squad? A freshmen with the last name Cooper. You ALREADY KNOW they’re gonna ask Saban for advice.

Most likely they will. Good catch.

Not sure if I want Nussmeier as OC though. I just have a feeling it will be the same old playbook. Unless he can remove some of the plays and add new ones.
Not be so predictable.

But just can't see it at this point. However, still great there will be someone different calling the plays.

He’s actually a very good coach. He’d change things up a good bit.

Still, I’d like to see someone outside the organization brought in to get some fresh ideas in Dallas.

I do think Nussmeier should have a lot more input in game planning.

Fact is the offense wont change much. But we should expect some new wrinkles.

With that said play calling during a game is the most important aspect

Until the playbook is changed it’s just a different guy calling the same plays.

Not that we haven't had some success with the current playbook.

I don't believe there's any concern really with the playbook per se. Some modifications, a few additions, a few subtractions, seems sufficient.

He's a championship level coach if you stop looking at his resume the year he won a national title as OC at 'Bama.

But if you look at his time as OC at Michigan and Florida, you will see he led complete disasters of offenses during his time at each of those schools.

Misdirection. Designed rollouts. Every team runs a lot of the same plays and name it something different. But let’s line up a little different. Give some changed up looks. Time to bring in fresh plays and use these players and our QB strengths. Use our zone blocking of course.

He would probably be similar to Linehan but a little more modern with some of the college element. His play calling is the question. I never forget when they gave the play calling to Callahan and the offense turned into 3 and out smallball. That experiment didn't last long at all.

I think this is going to be critical for success. If the Cowboys were to blow the thing up and institute a new scheme with new formations, plays, terminology, etc., it would have set them back. Tweaking what they have to better utilize Dak's running ability/threat and to change things up during situational playcalling are what I see as needed most.

Promoting someone already on staff that and giving them an opportunity to work closely with Garrett and figure this thing out is a smart move and I think gives them a good chance to make needed improvements. The talent is in place, just need to put them in position to win those situations like third and long and redzone that continually set them back.

His resume isn't even close to the other 6 candidates .
