The Cowboys have changed their approach to team building the past several years as compared to the previous years since Jimmy.

At the top of their new philosophy is not making big investments in older players. Graham will be 31 before next season.
Correct. The first thing I thought of when I read the title of this thread was that his age would stop Dallas from going after him.

I really like him as a player but I agree with the Cowboys on not giving contracts out to older, declining players... even one who is currently still good.

The only reason he would be taking snaps from other guys is because hes better than them

He’s already alluded to taking a hometown discount to stay with Philly if the money is close, meaning we’d have to oepn the bank. No thanks. Get an impact DT

I could see making an exception at 3T, but at DE? With the normal offseason development for young players we will have four starting caliber DEs next year. Taco is a big wildcard obviously, but we may have problems getting enough snaps in 2019 for the guys we already have.

Graham would not be cheap , Cowboys still have a bunch of their own FAs to either resign or replace . 50 mil will go faster then you think when you have Daks coming up as well Zeke, Cooper, Dlaw , Irvin, and Beasly are most notable... Hell Dak and Dlaw can eat most of it just them. Zeke and Cooper are going want 14+ range. Then you have to replace the ones gone ....

Does not leave room for quality depth , its great to have a young team .... but with age comes experience, which is key for playoffs. Even an old vet has value because of experience and leadership.

You have to play to the draft and free agency's strengths.

The edge free agent class is loaded. Keep Dlaw and grab at least one more edge rusher.

The majority of cowboyszone thinks DE is not a need for this team.

I totally disagree with that assessment.
Agreed- 0 sacks in the most meaningful game of the year, not saying the game plays out like that 10/10 times but man, we will need to disrupt qbs next year just as much...you win in the trenches

WE'RE probably not signing any free agents except some backup lineman or something..our own signing plate is huge so regardless if we see somebody that looks like a good deal or whatever,i feel 99% of the time we wont sign them.

Very good defensive end for the Eagles. Super Bowl experience. You could tell post game against the Saints he felt it was his last game as an Eagle. He hugged their reporter Derek Gunn like it was his last ride for the team. I would love for Dallas to sign this guy. Taco sucks and you never know with Gregory. This guy is good on and off field, is good vs the run, good at rushing the passer, and is probably seeking a mid level contract. I would love to sign this guy personally. Best case scenario you have him and Gregory rotating

He's real solid IMO. As others have said, probably won't sign him but he's very stout at the POA. He has had a serious injury (knee or ankle?) and missed a season as I recall. Skins will probably overpay him. That's what they do.

How much weight do you think he can gain before training camp?

What's it going to be then, eh?

They will sign Lawrence, burp, wipe their face with a napkin, and push themselves away from the free agency table in terms of DE.
