I don't think they had too. When the team was 3-5 they fired Paul Alexander and traded for Amari Cooper. You can't fire an OC in the middle of a season, there is just no way to install a new offense on the fly. But they did everything they could to minimize his position by giving Garrett, Dak and Moore "input" into the offense.

Everyone knew it, even Aikman was saying publicly that the Blake Jarwin crossing routes where added by Garrett.
Such a simple wrinkle had our TE Jarwin open for 3 TDs in one game and had the opposing defense guessing. To bad we didn’t do it in the rams game. Something so simple made our supposed weakness position going smooth.

I think you meant a suitable safety.

Seriously, what did Tyron do (or not do) in the playoff run? He was shaky early in the season but it felt like he played like his former self during the stretch run.
No..I meant suitable LT and I also forgot Safety. Thanks for the reminder. Tyron is a shell of his former self & should restructure his contract.

by the way where are the "dez is the cancer" folks? i dont remember these types of comments coming from the players after he was cut. in fact the players were seen hanging out with him many times! lions castoff linehan was the problem. dez spoke the TRUTH. it's time to bring him back and let bygones be bygones.
I think Dez cracked a one timer on Kellen Moore and Dak LoL’d.

get rid of the loser garrett too. we all know if jerry forces dez on jason he will obliged like the good yes man he is.
That's true enough. I just wonder who and how many Garrett guys there are and what it could do to the locker room.

Yeah, the Rams game showed zero imagination from the Cowboys but a ton from the Rams. I think Linehan was gone no matter, even if the team went to the SB. The Dallas offense against the Rams was exactly what they have done all year, in fact it was less so because Dak never ran until their was 5 minutes left in the game.

Fine. But these privileged wussies need to look at themselves, too.
I for one applaud their honest opinion which isn’t accepted in that PC bubble I keep avoiding on accident. Why is hard work from a player under scrutiny but laziness from a coach exemplified?

I'm not sorry to see Linehan go, but Garrett sure is letting him be the scapegoat with the media leaks.

Garrett is a slimy creature. This team will go nowhere until he is gone too

“Slimey creature” is tough talk. What exactly is Garrett responsible for here? And what should he be doing differently exactly?

I came to this thread for anonymous player parting shots. What am I missing?

The gameplay on Offense looked vanilla and the Defense looked like they were in prevent mode all night. Like they didn’t even try. Lol.

Was funny that JJ had said before the 3 TD Jarwin game that we may see some new things we haven’t seen yet.

If it was that bad then I wonder why players didn’t go to JJ. He is a players owner that says his door is always open to his players. Now we are “hearing” that JG wanted him gone last year. Maybe that’s why JJ gave Linehan more input into the Offense. Kind of like here is enough rope to hang yourself with.
I dont believe for one second that JG wanted Linehan gone. He had just stated that their would not be any coaching changes. Also, they both regard each other as "friends".

Who gets hired next will tell us plenty about whose fault it was for producing the Cowboys' uncreative offense.

Not much more than what it has already done if you look at it close enough. Players aren’t kicking a man while he is down with Linehan being “mutally” let go. They go out to compete under a coach that doesn’t provide any blueprint or support if anything. Pile that on top of Garrett guys backing him and you end up dividing the locker room. Linehan didn’t even stand on the field with them this season lol. People really are mad at the players for one worded statements?

They did. Dez went to Jerry about JG and it got him shipped out of here
