It was the play calling too. Way too intent on the pass. Even if the run game was working. That is why things changed with Callahan and later Linehan.

Of course, then Callahan took heat for calling too many passes, so we ended up with an OC who seemingly doesn’t even understand how to pass. Personally, I think Callahan was the best of the bunch. Moving away from the zone blocking scheme this year that he implemented was one of the dumbest things they did offensively, and there were a lot of dumb things.

We just disagree, but truth be told there is no authoritative insider voice to say one way or the other. I'm only reflecting on what was typically discussed in the media, no regard for what some fans might have been saying.

Wasn't from me. I complained about all of that. His playcalling sucked. And he hasn't improved his clock management skills yet either.

I again can't speak for you or individual fans.

I can say that it's highly, highly unusual for fans in general to be complaining about play calling.

Detroit we were up 27-3 and this here guy keeps throwing it

Green Bay with Matt Flynn we were up 26-3 and Murray was averaging 15 yards per carry and we kept throwing it

That’s grounds for insubordination
I remember those games well. Really embarrassing.

Agreed. But on that Detroit game, you can't throw consecutive pick 6s. I will always remember that game. Tony lost that one all by himself. And that's coming from a Romo supporter.

Can’t wait to get back to all the 1:25 left in half situations where we just decide to kneel it out... or a game defining scenario where we choose to run a hook and ladder.

Really? We all have been yelling about play calling all year. Why do you think we wanted Lenihan gone?

calling plays his offenses scored

369

His defenses gave up
347
400
432

The last 3 years under Dak we’ve scored
421 -2016
354 - 2017
339 - 2018

If the goal of the offseason is to find a way to score more points there isn’t a better KNOWN option than Garrett.

Hope the defense holds up and Dak can play in a Mike Martz style that utilizes the RB more
Man one heck of a three year decline on offense. Just another reason why some fresh input and game management is a must. Like it or not Red green lighted every game plan the past three years so this three year decline is just as much his fault as it is Daks and Linehan.

( Sarcasm, Sheldon, sarcasm. ;) ... and the point being, you're almost never going to find any team whose fans don't complain about play calling.)

Look at points/series since we tend to play games with fewer series than most teams.

Then, for those who say it’s all Romo, check Dak’s points/series.

Cowboys fans are the dumbest fans on the planet. And this thread proves it.

One of these top 10 finishes was with Kitna.

Yeah, that's from not committing to the run during those seasons. More pass attempts = more passing yards

Dallas Best YPA Seasons
2006 Sparano/Haley Romo 8.6
2014 Linehan Romo 8.5
2009 Garrett Romo 8.2
2007 Garrett Romo 8.1
2016 Linehan Prescott 8.0
2011 Garrett Romo 8.0

That was pretty much all on Romo. Good luck duplicating that. Also those teams were 8-8. Should have been fired then.
The CHiefs today reminded me of those Romo teams. The defense just gave it up in chunks. As soon as New England won the OT coin toss I knew it was over.
