At the professional levels, exactly what has he successfully lead that excelled at a top level? Anything at all? Pass...

Trying to excel under Linehan was probably a dead possibility from the start, and show up for recognition.
couldn't you say the same thing about mcvay? not saying Moore will succeed, but there are those close to them and in the football circles that probably know 1000 times more than any average fan on this board

some of you are working over-time to feel better about Cowboys so you can finally get sleep again.

The people that are buying this are the same guys doing cartwheels about releasing Dez and thinking Linehan is was going to be more dynamic because of it.

Fwiw, and don't shoot the messenger, but
The NFL network's Jason LaConfora claims he's considered around the league to be one of the young rising stars in the coaching ranks.

Another very important point is that they say if you expect an NFL QB coach to be the one to correct a QB's footwork during the season, you're completely unrealistic.
The labor agreement limits coaching time and the week is dedicated to inserting the game plan and practicing.
QBs hire specialists in the offseason to work on mechanical things like that.
Gruden ends it with.."if things don't work out under center, he's going to be one heck of a football coach!"

Hearing him talk to Gruden, he doesn't strike me as especially bright.

as long as they have Zeke and top 5 D I think they will win 10 games yearly. But for them to advance further in playoffs they will need to avg about 30 pts game. Right now they avg 21. Just not sure they have enough at QB to be that prolific on offense.
Wait, you think a team needs to average 30 points AND have a top 5 D to advance in the playoffs?
This year, 3 teams averaged 30 ppg. All made the championship games. None had close to a top 5 defense.
In 2017, no team averaged 30 ppg.
In 2016, the Falcons were the only one. They did not have a top defense, to put it mildly.
In 2015, 2 teams averaged 30 ppg, and both made the CCG.

If you can score 30 ppg, you should advance further in the playoffs regardless of what your defense looks like. If you have a top 5 defense, you shouldn't need to score anywhere near 30 ppg (I agree that better than 21 would be nice).

First, did he impressively lead his team to top shelf status while a quarterback? What has he done as a coach to warrant confidence?

One can do abstract isolated potentials all one cares, but that doesn't point towards leadership and under pressure situations as well. Jerry speaks doesn't make up for instinctual leadership and deep knowledge under stress. Tony Romo studied well, but his team allowed him to get injured beyond continuing...

Kellen did Moore with less physical skills than any QB I have seen .... he threw for over 400 yards in an NFL game.... he did this because he mastered the O mentally..... he spent his whole playing career on the bench learning..... his Dad was a coach and he grew up eating and sleeping football

I would love to turn him loose..... Boise St ran the type of Offense I would kill to see in Dallas

I remember Gruden did one of these with Dak too. He likes to act really impressed with these kids.
He likes them all. Here's what he said about Nathan Peterman

"He just looks like a pro quarterback -- coming out of the huddle, running an offense with different formations, shifting, motioning, different patterns that other colleges don't run. Peterman will recognize route combinations and associate formations."

"Most importantly, he will be able to get in a huddle from day one and look at 10 grown men and tell them where to go and what to do and handle a versatile snap count," Gruden wrote.

"He is sharp. He is in the channel, I think, of success. I think he's going to be a real good pro quarterback," Gruden said of Peterman, via the Bills official website. "I think any team in the league, you can cater your offense for Peterman. He's a lot more athletic than people think. And he can handle an extensive amount of football, so the teams that are really ambitious with deep, thick playbooks, those are the teams that Peterman would fit in with. But I hope he gets with one of those guys that can really stretch him and challenge him."

Ever since I was a young boy
I've played the oblong ball
From Boise down to Dallas
I must have played them all
But I ain't seen nothing like him
so I have to make the call
That deaf dumb and blind kid
Sure plays mean football!

He stands like a statue,
Becomes part of the team
Feeling all the rushers
trying to keep the pocket clean
He plays by intuition,
The mighty must fall
That deaf dumb and blind kid
Sure plays mean football!

he's a football wizard
There has got to be a twist
A football wizard,
got such a supple wrist
I hope he wins, before I get old.

I dont feel awful about them, do you? I think we have a strong team and will be a legitimate threat next season. Why wouldn't I? I mean hell I predicted 10-6 so I guess Im pretty damn good.

I dont feel awful about him...I feel terribad about him
