Firstly, I think that the current "artists" are terrible that they've been putting up for the Super Bowl Halftime Shows. Maroon 5 is RUBBISH compared to the music I like. I'm a Classic Rock/metal guy. This is in the NFL Zone because it's addressing the halftime show, but if the mods would like to move this elsewhere, that's fine.

I understand that the Super Bowl is a very American event, but they have also had international people do the halftime show. I recall The Who doing the halftime show for example. After googling it, I found that also Phil Collins (SB XXXIV), U2, Sting, Sir Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, and Coldplay have done the halftime show at different times. So, I don't think it's unheard of for international artists to do the halftime show. Who is my suggestion for the next halftime show then?

Rammstein!

Yes, they're German, but MAN, according to a lot of friends of mine that have seen them (yes, mostly my German friends), they put on an INSANE show!! For those of you that don't know Rammstein, here are 3 of my favourite songs by them. One of them is a lyric as opposed to the video

1. Sonne -

(Had to take this one out as I didn't realize something in it)

2. Mein Herz Brennt -

A bonus one as this is their best known:

Du Hast! -

Now, how about THAT for a halftime show? Just those 4 alone would DEMOLISH any of the groups they've had lately for their "shows". Oh, and they use some INSANE pyrotechnics for their shows. Yes, their songs are in German (with one exception), but it would be really cool!

Replacing number 2 with this:

This is Links 1, 2, 3 by Rammstein. It's not one of my faves, but it is quite good. It's just about ants, but they make it much tougher haha.

It's the Pepsi halftime I think.

So it's a deal between the league and PepsiCO.

On a side note players and teams appearing in Pepsi commercials
did not make it past the divisional round.

It's certainly not unheard of for an international act to do the halftime show. It is unheard of (at least since the '90s) for an act that isn't, you know, popular, to do the halftime show.

Im aware that Rammstein isn't well known in the US, and they're best known in Europe. Still, they will be if they do that show.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I've been to a Maroon 5 concert and they were very entertaining. They've won several Grammys, Peoples Choice and Billboard Music Awards. They sell out every concert. They have also been nominated for the BRIT 4 times, have won MTV Europe, Asia, Japan and Latin America Awards. They have won and been nominated the World Music Awards which is based off worldwide sales figures. More importantly they appeal to a younger generation which is what the NFL needs.

Fair point. However, I think, as a 26 year old, that the youth would also like Rammstein. They're German, but man are they fun. People going to the restroom during this show would be a mistake. I've also spoken to a lot of people who, after showing them Rammstein, said they'd love to see them at the halftime show.

well atleast 99.99% of the people wouldn't care and could use the restroom

They might, but I think when they hear Du Hast or Sonne, they'd realise this will be a completely different show than normal. They may not understand German, but I think people would find them catchy.

I'm OK with no halftime show. Have a touch football game with players from SBs past or Wounded Warriors or anything else. I am done with Entertainers and their need to inject their political opinions into my free time and game-space.

That may be, but I think Pepsi would be brilliant to get Rammstein to do a halftime show. IDK if you heard any of the songs I posted. If you did, what'd what'd you think?

I'd be fine there too. I just think, if we must have music, then Rammstein would really be great.

The only song they have that's close to "political" is Amerika, and it's pretty funny actually. Other than that, they pretty much stay away from that. Coincidentally, that's the one song that's mostly not in German.

I'm a huge Rammstein fan and have been for many years. They are a very hardcore band! I love em and it would be awesome to see them as the half time show, they are excellent live. That being said, I don't think they would ever be invited. #1 it is not in English and so that could be problematic lol, and #2 they have been known to get very naughty in their concerts, which would be VERY problematic. LOL! Plus, they are just not well known here in the States. Sadly.

Check out these songs by Rammstein, just a few of my favorites by them: Herzeleid; Du Riescht So Gut; Rosenrot; Rammstein; Mann Gegen Mann; Mein Teil; Mein Land, good song, cool video; Yo Quiero P*** (German band singing in Spanish lol, that always made me laugh)

Oh, I know that they can be naughty at their shows, but I think they would tone that down for the Superbowl. I understand that the German would be a bit problematic, but they'd still be fun. And I know those songs lol. This would be a great way for them to get better known in the US, and it helps the NFL expand it's market.

In fact, I think that the League wouldn't invite them because they're scared that a German band would overshadow their prized event, despite the ratings they'd get from it.
