Still makes me chuckle how many fans are still in mourning about Romo.

Someone makes an offhand comment about Romo? Headline news.

It even extends to the point of thinking he can rescue the franchise by returning as a coach.

He was a good player.

But he IS GONE. GET. OVER. IT.

Who isn’t over it? He was a popular player that people still talk about. We have a bunch of those. So what?

Everything I have read seems to indicate it would be way less than this. The average pension paid out apparently is around 45K per year. While Owens played a lot longer than the average player, I can't see any conceivable way that a pension would be drawn up where he would get 20 times the average pension. The pension appears by all account to be simply based on service, and has nothing to do with the salary the player earned. If anything I would think a smartly drawn up pension would be like social security and help the players with shorter careers more than the ones with longer.

He used to say nothing but good things about Romo until after his release. He heard Romo had something to do with it so he started badmouthing him. Hasn't stopped since.

I hated TO with a passion before he came to Dallas, then I liked him for a while against all odds. Now I'm back to hating him again and it feels right. I guess that's just the natural way of things.

While somewhat true, why is anyone giving this cancer a sounding board? One of the biggest idiots to ever play.

https://www.investopedia.com/financial-edge/0710/top-pro-athlete-pension-plans.aspx

Players who retired in the '80s and '90s receive anywhere from $3,000-5,640 per month for every season played in the NFL. Newly retired players (since 1998) receive $5,640 monthly for every year of service. Players with 10 years of service receive an additional retirement bonus in the form of an annuity.

So I guess he could make a million a year starting 10 years from now.
His wiki says he played 16 seasons at $5,640 per year that's $90,240 a month or $1,082,880 a year

I was trying to find his stats according to QB, thank you. I think Romo's thrown him more TD's than any other QB.

I don't know about that but in 07, TO had his 3rd highest single season yardage total, 2nd highest single season TD total, and the highest yard per catch average of any season in his entire career.

Not bad for a 34 year old guy playing with a "marginal" QB who worked in cahoots with his BFF tight end to freeze TO out of the offense

Summing it up-- TO was a phenomenally talented WR, is a deserving HOF player, and still manages to be a total jackass nearly every time he opens his mouth. This is another textbook example

If T.O. was talking about Aikman, Irvin, Moose, Staubach, Emmitt, etc., there'd be a thread about it. I was never too hot or too cold with Romo while he was playing, but I do appreciate that he was better than many people think.

You think Romo is better than Mahomes and on par with Brees?

Let me ask you, do you think Tony is a first ballot hall of famer?

Suggesting accolades resolve this is a mistake. Drew Pearson had far better stats than Lynn Swan. Yet which is in the Hall.

I am saying Tony's skill set and passing ability and accuracy, and by far his intellect to break down a defense was and is superior to everyone on that list except Brady and Rodgers. He is on par with Brees. The only way Rapesmysister ois ahead os because he is essentially a middle linebacker and hard to bring down. Rivers is close but Tony is better.

Mahomes is playing sandlot football, but that doesn't mean he is a Hall of Famer. And even if he was nothing is equal in football/

You have a pet cat. Great, we all do. But let's not allow that woody to blind you to the fact this kid is in his second year and first starting. There is a great deal of football to be played before he is considered consistent.

Rest your case? You’re weird, man! Sure, I liked Romo. I also liked Staubach and Witten and Drew Pearson and dozens of others. If you think talking about past players in a positive way equates some sort of weird “man crush” or something, that’s on you, pal. Not over Tony?!? All I can say is WOW!

Yeah not so much... By the way the 2018 average NFL pension was $43,000 per year... not quite well over a million...

"What former NFL star Terrell Owens learned from blowing through $80 million"

Legendary NFL receiver Terrell Owens knows a thing or two about money: the opportunities it can bring and the mistakes you can make with it. Since retiring from the NFL, the former wideout has been candid about his past financial turmoil.

https://www.businessinsider.com/what-nfl-great-terrell-owens-learned-after-losing-80-million-2017-10

He's not broke, but he is not worth nearly what some of you think he is. See above.
Now that is fun fun funny. A loser loses $80m and he has the stones to give advice on what to to with your money, Serious? Maybe when he becomes completely destitute he can try crawling to his Uncle Jerry for a low level menial job of sweeping floors or cleaning the urinals at the stadium.

And if Owens was talking about these others, you know what, it would be just about as worthless as what he is saying now.

I liked Owens, strictly as a player, on the field.

Otherwise, what comes out of his mouth is just the product of a very damaged person that is not worth considering as possible truth.
