Why couldn’t we win in 2014?

we had a bye week, leagues leading rusher, and top 5 ranked o-line and had to face a severely injured Rodgers playing on 1 leg.

It couldn’t be the QB because in 2016 we got an elite Quarterback (Dak Prescott) who played far better against the packers than in 2014 and still lost despite a similar team.

This coaching staff has to go.

This is as wrong as when you thought Deshaun Watson was Dak Prescott

Didn't have a bye week in 2014. Dallas was the 3 seed because they lost at home to the 4-12 Commanders.

Plus they were playing in frigid temperatures, which obviously would make it harder on the passing game than playing indoors.

And our defense didn't show signs of being able to stop Green Bay even if both of those plays had went our way.

There been plenty of games in the past, where a defense toughens up on the last drive, so I don't quite buy that as gospel. We got robbed by that Dez catch/no catch thing. I also certainly believe we would've fared better against Seattle than the lousy performance Greenbay put up against them, given our earlier game with them.

Because the Green Bay packers figured out a solid holding “technique” that allowed their lineman to hold all day without being called

It's possible, but we had not shown signs for years of being one of those teams that could do that. This past year was the first I remember in quite some time where I didn't expect a defensive collapse.

The Rams' game surprised me in that regard, but I didn't expect us to be able to score enough to beat them anyway.

Well the rams game, its a question of how much was it the cowboys coming back and playing with heart, and how much was it that the rams stop playing to win and started playing to keep from losing. I'm sure everyone here knows plenty of games where the cowboys did the same thing and ended up losing the game because they switched to playing to keep from losing.

The Dez reversal was correct. Let it go. And a 2nd game with Seattle would have been a completely different game than earlier in the year. Winning twice in Seattle in the same year would have been a tall order, especially since our win was way back in Week 5. Completely different team than the one that was only 3-2 after we beat them.

Seems as if you are the only one who can’t admit it was a bad call

Poor defense.
It was a very good, but not great team.
Never thought they were as good as many did. That was a junior varsity defense.

We didn’t have a “bye” week in those playoffs. We played Detroit in the wild card game the week before.

They were never winning that divisional round. The offense, just like today’s would go into Swamp Thing mode for halves. Detroit game was all you needed to see to know a loss was coming up the following week, which painfully it did.

That year felt special like things were clicking and we had the team mojo to beat anyone...

The refs had their money elsewhere unfortunately

Go look at the snap counts for the game, and who we had playing on the dline. So many guys on the verge of washing out of the league. Hayden, Mincey, Selvie, Spencer, Brent, Bishop. Terrell McClain was out for the game.

Carter and Hitchens took almost all LB snaps. No Lee. Rolando McClain took 9 snaps.

We had some big mistakes too. Murray's fumble. Bailey's miss. Leary being involved in multiple drive killing sacks.

But really, given the state of our front 7, we just weren't good enough.
