If Romo is throwing to Crayton and TO all week going over what they will be doing and used that extra time wisely quite possibly they don't drop the ball in critical moments .

Why because everyone is in sync no lapse to lose focus and concentration of the task in front of you . Bye weeks never help us because we never use them properly to get an edge on our opponent . We waste the time show up flat and unprepared .

If you are a leader and want to win a championship you take charge and make sure the guys you have to depend on are as prepared as you are . If you just want to be known as a great passer you go on vacation and hope they prepare themselves .

So simple a caveman can do it.

I actually thought you were kidding about Cabo. That nobody, after all this time, still thought that had any bearing.

You can't be serious with this crap.

What's the difference between sitting poolside with your girlfriend or sitting in a house with your girlfriend somewhere else?
It wasn't like they were getting hammered and partying all day like half the team was in both Vegas and the strip bars in Dallas that week.
It is nothing in same galaxiy like what the 1990 Cowboys teams did, for that matter.
And this was TWO weeks before game, not game week.

Furthermore, according to the staff, one player went to Valley Ranch that week before leaving town--after talking the staff into letting him in---it was Romo.
This narrative is just so dumb.

If anything, Romo took the tamer route than many do by laying low at a beach house with Witten and their girlfriends.
I'm actually glad this poster in denial ^^^^ blocked me. If you don't believe Cabo (and his "perception" response) had anything to with the mindset of what happened during Romo's early years, you simply are in denial.

1 HOF WR
1 Sophomore or Jr WR
2nd round TE

Not scrubs, all fully capable, meh an extra week of practice when u just grinded an entire season to get just one week off....

Amen, brother BlackRain! The Romo apologists know this!!! But their love for the player is stronger than it is for the team. That's why they excuse such terrible decisions to this day.

It always amazes me how many Romoholics are the first to give him credit for being the “true genius” behind the offense by changing plays, calling audibles, reading defenses, etc but when they failed/lost it was always the coaching o_O

I’ll never understand it. The guy makes millions playing a game and him and his teammates work hard year round to get to 13-3 and have one of the top teams in the NFL that year only to decide to go frolic in the waves with his gf during the week off instead of staying home, watching film, setting an example by NOT going to Cabo...why would we he even up himself up for that criticism? The guy may be football smart but he obviously lacks common sense in certain areas.

Personally, I would never put myself in that situation because I would never want second guess myself whether or not I did everything I could to put my team in the best position to win. That’s something I’m sure he regrets and now he has to live with it.

Hubris has destroyed civilizations. Losing a divisional playoff game is nothing.

He didn't win it either. He could have played better if he wasn't distracted.

Some fans thought he held onto the ball too long and took some unnecessary sacks.. Coincidently the Giants sacked Brady into a W...

Was Romo never great in your mind? He was limited by Garrett, he had the same struggles early that Dak has now in this offense....

I don’t blame Romo for it all. It was the whole organization buying into its greatness prematurely. Maybe Romo needed to be Superman that day. He wasn’t. Everything was too comfortable in Dallas and they will never live that one down. Fair or not it is true.

Have to say I've never seen Belichik's boys head down to the Caribbean during their bye week. You take a vacation after the season.

2014 was great, we had the catch, but we didn’t have a defense. We had a good run game and Dez played out of his mind but we were incomplete.

2007 we had a good defense, we had it all. Romo played good enough to win that game. We had the Fasano TD drop, TO dropped a key 3rd down pass, Crayton hesitates on his route. Secondary was a bit suspect at times. Coaches had no adjustments.

2007 was his best year and best chance to win it all. We went 13-3, had the bye. I wanted another shot at those Cheateriots.....
Romo could have had several great opportunities to win it all but he could not stay healthy. I love Romo but he was Andrew Luck before Andrew Luck.....a big ol What If....

Caribbean? Cabo is two hours from Dallas in the Pacific. You could drive to Oklahoma City and take as much time. I hear you though.

Look, there's no chance it impacted the game--which is the bottom line. None.
They had a full normal week of practice before the game. Certainly Romo and Witten going to Cabo didn't cause Crayton to decide to stop his route or the oline to have a hard time stopping the Giants pass rush in the 2nd half, or the defense to give up a length of the filed 1 minute TD drive right before the half.

And I think we all know that the coaches TOLD these guys to get out of town and away from football for the week. Maybe they should've ignored them. And I'm sure if they had a do over--since they did lose the game--they wouldn't have gone somewhere where could see them.

They (including Romo) , like all other teams the Giants faced in the playoffs that year, got outplayed.

Like moths to a flame lol
How is it any different then the same people that can’t stop living in the past and are constantly starting Romo threads when he has absolutely nothing to do with this team anymore?

It goes both ways.
