Coaching matters

Coaching most definitely was not the issue with the Rams. We got beat by a better team with two weeks to prepare. A team everybody on the forum was comparing positively to our roster all season long and then forgot and decided it was coaching when the defense couldn't maintain their gaps against a better offensive line.

And we still were in position to tie things up in the 4th quarter when our backup OC got blown off the line by Suh, who was probably the player most people were talking about when complaining about the Rams going for it with a better roster than we had to start with.

Right, but it was coaching because we might have run a different play on that 4th and 1. One that worked. We need a guy who can go back in time and call plays that work all the time, like Jimmy did. Only Jimmy had, by far, the best roster in the entire league and nobody wants to remember that part. Put it in 3 inch headlines: we had really good players.

You know, when you have to have the best players in the league at almost dam near every position to win...………IT'S COACHING!!!

Cant say it any clearer than that my friend.

Are we, now? It’s hard to keep track the way you guys keep sliding the goalposts back when the prior achievements are reached.

Expecting playoff wins after a decade is now called "moving the goalposts"

Dam Idgit, that's a new one even for you:eek:

I think you missed the words playoff game that I used in the question. We are talking about the playoff game right? The specific one where the home team gets an extra week to prepare, study film, put a plan together overall coaching stuff.

If you didn't miss them then why are you mentioning regular season wins since Dak started? That wouldn't make any sense.

Playoff games to Garrett fan boys is like a cross to a vampire...………..keep it away! Keep it away! Keep it away!

That wasn't the question.

That still is the question. Now that you laid out why they would be so prepared compared to us I'll ask another. Do you believe the times we were the #1 seed that we were given any kind of advantage due to coaching? Did we ever really do anything other than what we normally do week in and week out throughout the season? Mind you this only applies to Garrett's tenure.

I get to decide which of your questions to answer. I chose not to answer the ‘prepared for the playoffs” one because it’ll go nowhere.

No, I don’t think coaching hurt us in either 2014 or 2016. We’re not a team that changes up what they do. They’re not alone in that. If that’s what you’re waiting for, you’re rooting for the wrong team.

We don’t have to have the best players at almost damn near every position to win. But we still didn’t have as good a roster as the Rams. Literally nobody thought we did at any point I think the season, either. And yet, still, when we lose, it’s the coaching. Please.

“Jason Garrett will *never* get this team over .500!” That doesn’t sound familiar to you? “We’ll never beat the Eagles!” “I’m so sick of being one-and-done in the playoffs!” Don’t tell me you don’t remember all that horse****, because you guys have been shoveling it every offseason since 2011.

Ok, I will play along......................its not coaching, just that our players suck compared to the top teams in the league

That begs the question, why after a decade on the job does our players still suck when compared to the top teams in the league?

Especially considering some of those teams hired new coaches and took sub 500 teams farther that Garrett has in a fraction of the time.

You dont think any of that is Garrett's fault? Funny how 8 head coaches were fired this year and none got to use the "not enough talent" excuse. So why are other NFL head coaches held responsible for lack of playoff wins, even McCarthy in Green Bay, and Garrett is not because "he doesn't have enough talent".

Fair question, dont you agree?

It aint 2011 no more bro, its 2019............you didnt get the memo?

Yeah, Garrett has improved over 8 years to winning a pair of Wildcard games................wow.............that's dam impressive:thumbup:

So when can we expect a win in the second round, sometime around 2029? Or is that way too fast for your boy and us moving the goal posts?

Just asking so I know how to plan my schedule a decade from now.

I don’t buy your argument that our players suck. We beat the Saints and snapped a 10 game win streak and lost by one score on the road with a chance to tie things up in the fourth quarter to the NFC Super Bowl representative. This is where you’re completely out of touch with reality.

It doesn’t matter what the 8 coaches who were fired this season used as their excuses. Jason Garrett was not fired. Garrett got his team to the divisional round of the playoffs and lost to a better overall team. Why are you trying to make the comparison to a bunch of teams who didn’t win in the first place? It’s a bad argument.

Your point was that the goal posts had not moved over time. I pointed out where they were back in 2011. They’ve moved.

Expect your next Super Bowl when the front office learns to build a team like they did for the last run. That’s been an issue in Dallas a lot longer than Garrett’s been here. Not that homers like yourself will admit it.

The prepared for the playoffs question was the only one I asked until my last post you quoted. In between my initial post and the last you have answered a version of the question you created by omitting part of it so you could mention regular season wins and insinuate it made no sense. After pointing out you missed a key part of the question which by the way still makes no sense you feign ignorance claiming the goalposts were moved. Then I have to specifically state why it's playoff games being discussed for you as if it weren't abundantly clear to anyone that could read only for you to post this

"When was the last time a Garrett led team gained such an advantage from preparation and planning?" That was the remark I was referencing when I said "Our team is regularly more prepared than our opponents. We’re don’t win more games than other NFC teams under Dak by not being prepared. That doesn’t make any sense."

Your edited version of my initial question and your response to it. After clarifying again that that wasn't the question you say you get to decide what to answer and opt out. That's hilarious.

You are all over the place my friend............you are making me dizzy:laugh:

You say on one hand that we dont lose because of coaching, we lose because our players are not as good as the players on the top teams like the Rams, Saints, ect...

Then when I say "why do our players suck when compared to the top teams after Garrett has been here a decade", you go off on a tangent that "our players dont suck, we had a chance to be the NFC representative".

Well that kinda proves my point. If we do have the talent to compete and yet Garrett cant win anything other than a Wildcard game, maybe he is the problem? Oh, that's right, you just said in a couple of post back that we lose because we dont have enough talent. Oh, wait, that is totally contradictory to this post that we apparently do have enough talent to compete. Oh wait, that contradicts your last post, ect...

I am so dizzy trying to keep track of your arguments as to how none of this Garrett's responsibility. Very entertaining:lmao2:

I explained my reply to you. You really want to go back and forth over whether or not I should have answered a different one instead? Knowing, as you do, that I later answered the different one you wanted me to answer, too?

Funny how I didnt see you posting "Its not Wade's fault, the front office has not built him a SB caliber roster".

Didnt see you posting anything like that for Tuna either.

I guess Garrett is just a glorified cheerleader then, just waiting to be handed a SB caliber roster..........what a stud coach:rolleyes:

I’m not all over the place. You’re just leaping to conclusions. It’s possible for our team not to “suck” and not to be losing because of coaching and to still lose a relatively close game to a better team.

If that concept makes you dizzy, you’re probably too drunk to be posting right now.

I only had one question. the second that I guess I'm supposed to be grateful for you answering only came about because of your sliding around the first. So thanks I guess.
