Look at the total DT talent in the Super Bowl. Shelton Richardson, Aaron Donald, Suh. The interior of the DL is clearly a priority for both the Rams and the Pats. Garrett has never bought into the idea that the middle of a defense is important whether it's DT or safety.
X a zillion or 2.

Again a dumb question, it's not a yes or no question, it was both. It wasn't only the defense of the Pats, It was also the Rams offense not executing as well.

Well, we did win a SB with a very hands off college coach that was just happy to be in town, so...

Switzer? :muttley:

He inherited a two-time defending SB championship team who managed one more in spite of him, then fell apart while he helplessly watched it happen.

Garrett coaches the defense and selects the defensive players? What are Marinelli, Richard, and the Jones boys doing?

I'm fine with replacing JG but I've seen nothing to indicate those decisions were made by him. Now if you want to talk about JG's offensive philosophy and game management...

Lol. Are you saying that the head coach has no control over his players or defense and zero accountability?

Despite what a lot of people think JJ isn't stupid and he clearly feels that he's given Garrett a good squad of players. And the comments both he and Stephen have made over the last 9 months is clear to me that they are noticing what is happening in the NFL. They want in on these new offensive systems designed to make it difficult to predict plays and get substitution packages on the field in time. There is no doubt in my mind that Garrett is on a tight rope while the Jones boys are looking for that next 30 something coaching prodigy to hit the market.

You're on the nose here. Jones has said several times that this is a talented roster, and he's absolutely right.

Garrett is underachieving with the player talent that Jones has given him and he's tired of it.

Win or you're done here. As simple as that.

I'm using your guidelines that winning has more to do with execution than anything else. So one team has to execute better given the parameters. I just want to know if it holds true or not.

Is there any more proof needed that coaching matters?

New England doesnt have the talent that we do on defense and they completely shut down the Rams high-octane offense.

I guess you guys were not around when we had Tom Landry to think the its all talent. Jimmy Johnson was not known for X's and O's but he could motivate, evaluate talent, and make tough coaching decisions to win.

In the grand scheme of things yes one executes better. I'd say Brady and his offense executed better than the Rams.

Do u even read?....I NEVER said anything about this SB....for 1 Belichick doesnt even call the plays Flores does....
So Flores is the master mind behind NE’s defensive performance vs the Rams? You’re funny!

IF...

Is 10 carries scattered over the course of a game enough to know with a player who is maybe the best RB in the NFL (at least top 2 with Elliott)? Is that enough use for the guy that is your best offensive weapon?

How would Cowboy fans feel after a 13-3 loss if Zeke only got 10 carries? Can you imagine how this board would blow up?

How many times has Elliott not done much early in a game but still had a big game? Or Emmitt? Do we not think it happens with Gurley too? And other great RBs?
Gurley didn’t look good at all. The chubby back up looked better than him.
