Not JAG's: Hightower, Gronk, Edelmann, Michel, Van Noy, Flowers, Brown, Gilmore, McCourty, McCourty, James White, and all of their OL's.

That's a whole pile of topnotch players.

They're good players, yeah, but can we not find players similar to them on just about every team?

No. These are studs. They have a pile of talent. You do not win super bowls w/o highly talented players.

Nah, if they had that many top notch players they would have been to like 4 of the last 5 SBs and won like 3 of them, lol.

Er, wait a minute....

Yet, outside of maybe Gronk - most of these players would leave the Patriots and never be heard of again. They are stars there, especially on the defensive side of the ball, because Bill is a defensive guru. The only one that left and had success recently, that I can remember, is Jones and even he has faded quickly - ranked pretty low this year.

James White, Michel are pretty much RBs Patriots pick up every year.

And Gilmore was a disappointing player before he got to the Pats, adding to my point that Bill is the main reason these dudes have success.

We're not going to agree on this. And you forgot Hightower, he's a top 5 LB. Flowers is climbing the list. McCourty is a top flight #2 CB. The other McCourty is a top 10 FS.

As far as players leaving, Jamie Collins is considered a top 5 LB.

Some of this is opinion, but some of these guys are rated much higher than you give them credit for.

Belly is a great coach, on that we definitely agree.

I doubt they draft a RB in the 1st round this year, like they did last year drafting Michel.
Plus, White has played a significant role in NE.

You're spot on with Gilmore though. Belichick made him a top guy.

Chandler Jones had 13 sacks in 2018 after posting 17 in 2017.
I think NE wasn't sure whether or not he'd be a walking suspension every year.
Basically, they thought of him like we do David Irving... lol. Lots of talent but
crazy enough to throw it all away.

On the whole though, we agree. It all comes down to Brady & Belichick.

Regarding the OP, I know I could play a quarter.. lol.

Sacks aren't indicative of play, again, Jones didn't have a great year

This is a considerable drop from where he was last year.

As for "drafting Michel in the first" - Again, the production they are getting from White and Michel is not different than production they seem to get out of backs almost yearly. They always have that back that gets it done on the ground and one through the air. Woodhead, Vereen, Ridley, Blount, Dillion, Maroney, Faulk, Green-Ellis, etc.

Again, the point is, once most of the players leave New England, they are hardly what anyone considers "studs".
