Bart: Would signing Earl Thomas make the Cowboys SB contenders? -FTF

22 points against a defense the patriots could only muster 13 against

Different game, different atmosphere, and longer time to prepare for the Patriots specifically.

Either way, the Patriots offense wasn't great in that Super Bowl either - the Pats not playing well =/= our offense played well.

We don’t even know if he can play anymore..

His mind know he can play, but can his body? Even part time or in wheelchair, he still can help us out with his skill and experience

Nope. Prescott had better stats than both Tom Brady and Drew Brees vs the same rams team.

That’s a fact.

I don’t care about your feminine whining. The numbers are all that matters.

> Prescott had better stats

Prescott is the entire offense now? And yet, with those "BETTER STATS BRO" we couldn't muster more than 13 points until the late 4th.

Stop reaching.

You have to consider it if you can swing it. We need impact players. And there aren’t enough impact S to go around.
The defense early in the season if they had played better..

we would have been seeded better in the playoffs and had another home playoff game and who knows.

Obviously, the FO knows this.

So I think you do get Thomas and then tend to the other positions as you can.

There is a short window of opportunity to get to the next level while these core players are in their prime.

Once that is over..it's over and the team will decline.

Cooper was one piece..

Thomas will be another.

We need an offensive TE immediately.

Draft or trade or FA whatever.

Then we roll.

:starspin:

Most rushing yards allowed ever in the playoffs
I know that. But the points scored against is the most important stat, and they didn't score so many points that a good offense couldn't have kept up. I'm not excusing the defense by any means, just underscoring the fact that they weren't the only reason we lost.

Show me a QB that scores points when his defense gives up 170 yards rushing in the first half and his offense gets less than ten minutes time of possession in the first half.

I'm a bit leery, when you add his age, injury history and presumed contract demands it tends to be bit risky. Thinking that we are one piece away from a championship would be a mistake, as is thinking the piece needed could only be acquired by signing. We need upgrades to contend but I truly feel that some of these will come by way of health, chemistry, experience and some offensive creativity. Would love to add him but against the Rams he would have only been the guy making tackles 8 yards down the field.

....you get we had the ball for so little because we couldn't convert on 3rd downs, right? Why play obtuse? 1 out of 10 on 3rd down.

And despite the "170 rush yards in the first half" - the Rams still didn't put up a ton of points on us. Yet, our offense simply couldn't convert on important downs and couldn't get into the end zone when they had the ball.

Stop downplaying the offenses incompetence. Just a few weeks earlier they got shutout by the Colts D.

LOL! And the week before the Colts they put 29 points on the Eagles, then the two weeks after they put 27 on the Bucs and 36 on the Giants. Cherry pick much?

More LOL at you using the word obtuse in a post that implies Dallas had 10 possessions in the first half. Dallas scored on their first possession, then had two punts and then they had the 9 play drive that stalled because of the first ever sack Lael Collins made on Dak Prescott.

They couldn't stay on the field. "Then had two punts" - So, they couldn't score?
