I guess that was the first flashback scenes while the apocalypse was just unfolding...that's one thing I wish they would have done more of over the seasons.

This.

They blew that opportunity big time in "Fear The Walking Dead". They could have greatly expanded upon the happenings around the original outbreak. But instead they beat a path as quickly as possible to catch up to "The Walking Dead" timeline.

Daryl has had more words in the first couple episodes of this half of the season than he's had the last 3 years.
yep. he's a much better leader than whatsherface who kinda fell into it at hilltop. :)

daryl does make negotiations short.

"no"

and onto the action. rick would talk for 10 minutes and then tell everyone how sad life has become while we war it out for 3 seasons.

So far I like it. I'm interested in seeing how it progresses.

Yeah in a weird way. (And I don’t think they’ll go there.) in a weird way ... to see Negan pick up where Rick left off. Would interesting and realistic story.

Negan bashing Abraham and Glenn gets cancelled out because Rick and gang killed x amount of saviors in their sleep.

Judith and Negan start a new “new way”.

While losing main characters from the "head bashings" was harsh for the show... From Negan's POV I understood the "frontier justice" behind it.

yea, that's one thing that never sat really well with me. sure negan bashed some favorites in the head, but those guys were tricked into killing his men. what would rick and co have done if things reversed.

"we're sorry - we didn't mean to kill you, please chill out..."

There was a period after that where I thought Negan was over the top with Rick's group and even his own, but the writers/directors later added a little humanity to his character. Almost like they realized they were portraying a Negan that no one would follow.

well negan right now is by far the most entertaining actor / character on the show. the dynamic of he and judith is a compelling one with a world of promise.

i think her shooting at him was a great way to kick off the relationship.

Yep - and I also enjoyed most of Negan's scenes last season. In fact, without Jeffery Dean Morgan, not sure I would have made it through the last season (I mean if it had been a weak actor...obviously a completely different story/season without the Negan character).

I felt same way.

This year my intrigue was kept by the whisperers.

Now, it’s BOTH!

Enjoying so far too..although carol should have took Henry back with her, he's getting annoying.ha

It's always been the downfall of any zombie movies (or series), they never give you any solid answers. Either because they're afraid of the potential reaction, or they're just not clever enough to come up with any. But you never get the how's or the why's and the really interesting stuff happening. The closest one that I can remember even trying was World War Z. That one had the running zombies (which I've never liked), and some cool CGI set pieces scattered throughout. But it looks like we'll never be getting that sequel.

I have to say I'm having a lot of issues with this one. They're trying "oh so hard" to build up Alpha as the next "Big Bad" but they're failing miserably. From the flashback stuff that made zero sense, to the "standoff" going into next season. You want to kill the snake? Chop off its' head. And the head is standing out in the open. Anyone with a brain in their heads ends this before it even begins. But I'm sure we're now expected to believe that this thing will go on for another season, right?

So there is not going to be a WWZ part 2?

The daughter started out telling her mother's "version" of the story, but realized towards the end (her version was a lie) and that she was the one that wanted to leave and that the father wanted to stay put with the daughter, so she killed him. It wasn't the guy that turned.

Oh I realized that. But her "killing" that guy? The weakest nonsense I've ever seen them try to pull.
