This means the draft will be focused on DLine.

Hopefully Witten is serviceable. I liked what I was seeing from Jarwin and Schultz at the end of the year. Don't really like the move.

No need to draft one with limited capital.
Provides leadership, run blocking and inevitable clutch games vs the giants.
Puts even more eggs in the all in basket of having to do better than one and done for Garrett in the postseason.

As long as he doesn’t completely hinder the development of jarwin, sign me up.

I still wear my Dez! :flagwave:

Let me know if you're interested in purchasing a 'backup' jersey?

I'll hook you up!

He's a Cowboys legend.... but the epitome of a progress blocker. This offense needs much more speed and dynamic plays than he is capable of making..... 3 years ago, much less now.

Witten back is a godsend. Those that don’t like this news can they just be banned?

if they could just get jimmy to come out of retirement they might have a chance to be competitive in the nfc

Not sure why folks are downing this move. Hes a tight end and a great route receiver. Its one year. And hes as healthy as he can be.

Solid move.
only GOOD, if we draft a stud to pair with him...PLANNING. Unless they feel Jarwin will be that guy. At times, he was last year.

ESPN alert just crossed my phone.

My hot take: It's the same reason they want to bring Sean Lee back. He'll be more of a coach on the field. I don't think this stops the team from signing a TE in free agency (I certainly hope that it doesn't).

And let's all be honest. Old man Witten is STILL better than any TE that is currently on this roster.

No offense but it’s freaking idiotic to eat up 10MM in cap space for Lee and 5MM in cap space for Witten to be essentially player coaches.

This is a dumb organization by any rational measure.

We need a solid red zone threat which he can be.

I don’t think he gets the same snaps he is accustomed to.

It’s going to be embarrassing if we miss the playoffs which we usually do after going to the playoffs
