B/R: Nick Foles Won't Be Franchise-Tagged by Eagles; Will Enter Free Agency

That's kind of the point here, Sure Wentz had a good season in 17, won a lot of games and looked to be why he was drafted in the 1st. last season he looked terrible man, regressed to no end, didn't seem the offense was really playing "for" him so getting hurt was probably a good thing for him. Nick Fole's is looking like a QB god under this offense, I'd say probably the best he has his whole career, if Wentz goes out flat, and ya'll start off losing and he can't get it together, I'm betting we will see that stadium fire here in Dallas as the fans burn it down...hey it's a crap shoot, he either will keep moving up, or fall like a stone to the bottom...of course, same can be said right here with Dak. We pay him and he keeps regressing, all hell will break lose. Difference is, I don't see Dak doing that......with Wentz, who knows at this point, the injuries have kept him off the field so in truth, you don't really know what you have in him.

Hmm, not sure what you’re getting at. Wentz played pretty well last last year. The run game disappeared and we couldn’t get drives together, but he was killing people at times. Improved in many statistical categories over 2017. People just look at the td passes number which is incredibly misleading. In 2017 we had like the 4th best run game in football, Blount would get us down in the red zone and Carson just needed a 12 yard pass for yet another td.

He mantained his yards per attempt from 2017 but ballooned his completion % to 70%. He was a man possessed.

Don't tell him that! He'll have to jump on his couch and reread his Bible 10-11 more times to cleanse the thought!

Pretty well was a 5-6 record? If that's his best or pretty well, well I'll leave it right there

No run game and a bad defense. Foles played worse, but suddenly our D jumped into top 10 status in the second half of the season. You can point to his seasoned veteran leadership, maybe the excitement of having a Super Bowl MVP behind the wheel, even Foles magic.

But to say it’s just because he played better simply isn’t accurate. Nick is clutch, even-keeled, is the master of the safe throw. But people tend to look the other way in the games where the D bailed us out when he reverted to Nick from St. Louis. We scored 14 points in the opening 6 minutes against New Orleans, and then didn’t score another point the rest of the game. We still almost won!.... because nick is such a better QB?

One thing for sure if Wentz gets off to a slow start again, fans in Philly with be ruthless and hollering why Foles was cut instead of Wentz. Wentz will enter this season with a ton of pressure on him.

Fans were booing Foles at half time of the Falcons game last year.

That reporter says he interviewed 6 players over 2 months for that report. There's 53 players on the roster, 10 players on the practice squad, players on IR, and players who were on and off the roster throughout the year. He doesn't even say what caliber of player he interviewed. Starters? Backups? 3rd stringers? Practice squad players? Roster churners? And he doesn't say all 6 players interviewed made those comments. He interviewed 6 players. That doesn't mean all 6 had negative things to say.

and if Wentz gets off to a poor start they will boo him as well. Fact is outside of his rookie season up to the injury he has not looked overly impressive. I think some of that is because of the knee and concerns he may have with it where he is not playing as freely. I don't know but I do know that the team looked very different when Foles stepped on the field than they did with Wentz this past season. I say that as an observer with no dog in the fight. I do think Wentz has the higher ceiling but I can't help but say Philly looked like a better team when Foles got in there.

It means that some people feel that way.

It means some don't think too highly of Wentz.

It means it's not an endorsement.

Philly doesn't have many fans, most go to the games to be rowdy and boo, even their own team. Veterans stadium, the prior home to the iggles had a court and jail under the seats;)

Based on comments around here I don't see a big difference with Cowboy fans, except the jail part. lol

(Jones boys would rather have dak than a qb that has won a SB)
So, It's your belief that Trent Dilfer was a better QB than Tony Romo. Or Dan Marino.
Well omer I was not implying anything about dak, or how good he can be or is.
IMO Foles is a better QB as is right now than Dak, he has more experience in playoffs and big games, and even won a SB.
If Foles was dal qb and they went to SB foles would be more relaxed, than if Dak was qb being in his first SB and really dak is 1-2
in playoffs.
Right now Dak is in need of some good coaching to reach his potential, and I dont think he will get that with dallas, and without that
he is just a avg qb, and will never correct his flaws.
Foles would do better than dak here with JG and kellan , than Dak will . Foles is not in need of a lot of coaching.
However playing for JG and kellan, here in dallas, aka the circus, Foles would probably not be as good as he has been last 2 years.
If wentz retired , and dak was traded to phil for foles, and they coached up dak, and in different team atmosphere, dak might be pretty good,
and out do foles on the dallas team.
It is all speculation till it happens. but I like foles, and I like dak, I just think foles has been coached up better in phil the last 2 years,
and when he really did good was when the coaches adjusted plays and game plans to fit what foles does good.
That is something JG wont do for foles or Dak.

I also think the only reason eagles didnt get back to SB, was they didnt have a running game, or the 2 good rb's they had the previous year.
All they had was tiny and old sproles, and that was pathetic, they should have found and signed someone else to do the hard running.

Now about this question, Trent is made fun of , but in that 1 year he was a top qb , he played smart and got the job done.
So yeah for that 1 year he was better than those 2 and a bunch of others.
Playing smart counts for more than awesome talent or as jerry says "pretty passes" , and dilfer did that .

Also interesting, that raven dumped dilfer for a "better" qb, and didnt go back to the SB and gradually went downhill.
had they kept him another year they might could have won 2 in a row.
Pittsburgh got to SB and lost with O donnell , dumped him for better QB, and didnt get near a sb, again for years.
had they kept him another year they might could have went back to SB and maybe win the next year.
That is all just IMO.

Lets see the eagles drafted him and as a rookie was in 7 games started 6 and had 6 TD's and 5 picks. He did much better in 2013 and then 2014 he started 8 games and 13 TD's and 10 picks. 2015 he played for the rams and started 11 games and had 7 TD's and 10 picks (ouch more picks than TD's). 2016 he signs with KC and played in 3 games and started 1 and had 3 TD's. Then he comes back to the eagles and started the last 3 games of the season and rode the coat tails and got a ring. Most years he threw almost as many picks as TD's and 1 season he actually threw more picks than TD's. I really wouldn't want a QB who has a history of barely throwing more TD's than picks.
.
Well your looking at a bunch of years with different coaches, and situations, and then judging based on a couple of stats :omg:LOL
Each year is different each team is different, situations vary.
Foles has played very good in playoffs, and in SB, Dak has played good and bad, in playoffs, and is just inconsistent in big games.
Under JG , Dak may not get better , in fact he seems to have regressed in fundamentals, under JG.
He has potential, but it may never be realized as long as he plays for the clapper.
And it is obvious kellan cant help him except with better play design, but dak needs more than that.
