Take it for what it's worth but CBS Sunday morning had a recent Nobel prize winner who is generally considered as the one of the first pioneers of AI.
He stated that one third of all AI spending should be on security issues and pointed out that in the rush to not fall behind tech companies were not spending anywhere close to that number. (security meaning AI self awareness and loss of control on the human end).
He had many interesting insights too many to list here, but on a humorous note (sort of, because he was dead serious) he stated that he keeps his money in many different banks because the security of these institutions are simply not going to be enough going forward, as in real soon.
As mentioned in the video first posted in the thread, when AI can truly self code, as all tech companies and certain governments are working frantically towards completing, literally no one can properly predict the consequences.
