Who is returning punts

Beasley seems to be burying himself with his latest rumored contract desires.

Obviously we will have to replace him as a WR.

I will miss him.

But whatever.

But punt returns needs new blood now.

I was growing weary anyway of him fair catching everything or letting it roll into the endzone.

Wasted opportunities.

Who do we have who will inherit his ST jobs?

And don't we need some pop on the KO returns, too?

I mean why is it we never have anybody who can do something there.?

With 6-8 PRs a game..

and 5-6 KO returns a game..

That's like 15 offensive plays a game where we do nothing.

Solutions?

We drafted then traded the solution for nothing in return. He now provides the Steelers with a decent return game and contributes as a wr in a talented group.

With the return of #82?

#'s 89
or 86 if they were smart, should be trying like hell to land some playing time,,,er,,,before Coach GARRETT informs the #38 that all the punt/kick returns are now gonna' be in his magic bag of Heath- like FOOTBALLISH capabilities.

* #38 will damn sure do it, Too!

He had 250 yards in a Passing offense and scored 1 TD in 16 games.

We didn’t handle it right by wasting a fourth to trade for nothing, but let’s not act like he’s someone we can’t just as easily replace.

Tavon Austin scored 2 TDS on 8 receptions in 2018.
Switzer scored once on 36.

And for Pitt he had 36 rec. Can't put up stats if you don't get the ball.

First of all, you could replace Beasley as a punt returner with just about anyone living at Shady Pines Retirement Home as long as they can wave their arm for a fair catch.
My point exactly.

Now if Beasley had scored or produced any big plays returning kicks..

he might have a glimmer of hope of resigning with some sort of payraise..

But he had no heart for it.

He just wanted to get back to the sidelines and rub his hammie.

He really disappointed me in 2018.

Tavon Austin if for a reasonable deal. But that saying goes for every player.
Austin is another reclamation project we can do without.

Every time he enters a game..

It's like sending a Red Alert we are doing a Jet Sweep or gadget play.

I start screaming at the TV..

JET SWEEP JET SWEEP HERE COMES THE JET SWEEP

And it happens.

Enough already.

Good question.

It's basically because we don't draft well. We make the mistake of taking a player for a certain thing, and then ignoring it. We generally don't have a backup plan if that player doesn't work out, and players often do not work out.
Uhhh..

Yeah.

So why is it we can'talk figure out a higher draft pick dedicated to kick duties might actually make STs special.?

The best guys I ever saw were Bobby Hayes and Deion.

They were gamechangers.

It's a mystery to me.

Why even bother to return them if we are not going to do something to ,make them count.?

Just stay on the sidelines and have some gatorade.

It does as much good as actually touching a football we can't or are not interested in advancing meaningfully.

Likely a draft pick or UDFA. On the list it is probably Jourdan Lewis

Using the word "obviously" when it comes to Jerry Jones & his Cowboys is going on a limb. What seems obvious to fans, is quite the opposite of what Jerry see's. I certainly wouldn't count Beas out of the picture just yet.

The Boys will need to decide whether or not to retain Austin, who is an unrestricted free agent. They paid Austin just $1,875,000 last year, a pittance for a return ace, even if he plays limited snaps at WR. If the two sides can come together on an agreement, and depending on whether or not Beas returns, Austin could see the bulk of the punt return work going forward, and might just turn out to be the spark plug they’ve been waiting for at punt returner. We certainly don't need "new blood" having Austin.
