Jerry: ”I didn’t know it was going to be this tough”. Why it is this tough

He can’t buy a team or a dynasty anymore. He opened his check book and bought a SB team. He let Jimmy Johnson amd others acquire talent. He bought the best players available for just about every position in the 90’s.
yuuuuuppp

As long as we are the topic of “stupid Jerry”

I still haven’t gotten over him costing us 4 SB’s in a row.

Football Immortality was right there... waiting for us!

Actually, he didn't. He (Jimmy, if you will) drafted Aikman, Smith, Johnston, Stepnoski, E. Williams, Woodson and others. Free agent pickups like Newton and Novacek he didn't pay any more than other teams would.

With the Walker trade Jimmy was able to stockpile talent very quickly, and that was the basis for the team's success. He did pay well for Deion and Haley but overall it was Jimmy's drafting that got the team the 3 SB wins...
Yeah, this. 100%...

Forget Superbowl we can't even get to an NFC championship game. Honestly amazing we've been somewhat relevant.
Right.

The rest of the league should be ashamed that this dysfunctional organization fields a better team than they do.

Totally dead serious question. Which of the following does anyone believe is the more symbolic gesture?

  • Not spending a penny on Dallas Cowboys apparel, tickets, etc. ever.
or
  • Divorcing oneself completely from anything and everything even remotely associated with the Dallas Cowboys.

My reason for asking for answers is this. Jerry Jones is a billionaire. Jerry Jones would still be a half-billionaire today if it were possible for him to lose every single cent earned from owning the Dallas Cowboys (e.g. oil investments, real estate, etc).

An individual buying or not buying a jersey, etc., does not impact Jones financially. Jones will net hundreds of millions annually regardless. Conversely, an individual, who does not associate with anything to do with his franchise, does not support Jones in any shape, form or fashion either directly or indirectly.

Logically, the second alternative would be the more symbolic gesture of dislike of Jones' running football operations for his franchise. Some may see the first option as the more symbolic gesture.

Thoughts?

the latter

I've always thought it would CRUSH jeri if no one tuned in to hear him ramble anymore

Imagine a world were the fans had the good sense to ignore him and his spawn entirely in every medium resulting in no one asking him for comments. Jeri's, Garrett's & Stephens shows on the radio and tv are cancelled as all stations say sorry jeri, our viewer/reader/listener-ship drops to zero whenever you or anyone in your family is on air or print.

This would be worth a super bowl or two for this fan.

My only joy remaining is when jeri gets booed when they put his sorry mug on his vidjaboard, I just hope that hasn't changed. Last I heard they wont put him on there because he gets booed so bad

I take it from the tone of this thread that ~smack~ ya'll don't like them there 3 Super Bowl trophies

~car salesman wink~

Maybe if Jerry hadn't almost single-handedly spear-headed the salary cap we wouldn't be having these problems...

After I found out he was responsible for the cap, I pretty much lost ALL respect for him...

And Jimmy should. But Jerry deserves credit for bringing Jimmy in and making the deals he needed.

Somewhere along the line that wasn’t enough credit for Jerry. Part of that was built up by the media when he parted ways with Jimmy and still didn’t receive credit with Barry.

It’s whats fueled Jerry’s passion ever since to prove he’s the Football Guy he wasn’t credited for back then.

Again , it’s where he’s been misguided wearing all hats because hiring the right guy and providing him the tools is all the credit most owners want. But it’s not enough for Jerry. He wants the credit coaches get.

Yep. As simple as this. Well said bro.

Jerry: ”I didn’t know it was going to be this tough”. Why it is this tough

By decree were all mirrors removed in Highland Park and Frisco?

16 teams are trying to make the superbowl in his conference, 32 are trying to win it. Do the math of probability, he expected everyone else just to lay over for him? His decision making at times has been shocking, and he never owns up to it. The Cowboys have done better over the last 20 years really than they should have due to his GM'ing. Romo wasn't Jerry, Romo was luck. Dak was super lucky. Jerry wanted Lynch, Jerry wanted Manziel. Your successes are when he doesn't get what he wants, which is really bad.

What a turd. That's the problem in a nutshell. Jerry never had any foresight, he was always in win now mode which was a joke in itself and everyone saw the crap coming from a mile away except him. Just an absolutely clueless GM.

I know this is practically impossible but for every ticket holder to stage a walk out after the first play or not even show up. Or do not buy any concessions or parking passes. It has to be a public display for the media to get hold of it. Nothing hurts Jerry than an empty stadium or dissatisfied "fans" and the goal is the media publicly asking him to answer to it.
