In case anyone is wondering........... even if you take the low end of the annual pay of $27MM. Here are your QB rankings in average annual:

1) Rodgers - $33.5MM
2) Ryan - $30MM
3) Cousins - $28MM
4) Jimmy G - $28.5MM
5) Prescott - $27MM
5) Stafford - $27MM

Now before anyone says, well Dak is as good (or better) than Cousins or Stafford............. note that people don't consider what Cousins signed or Jimmy G signed as really good contracts for their respective teams.

If this is indeed what they are going to pay someone like Dak, then they should pay 50m a year for DLaw, at least he is one of the best at this position. To be successful with a qb like Dak, you need other pieces, he is not good enough to cover up any other lacking department. This will all but make it impossible to field the type of team that Dak needs to be successful, thus we are just playing for hopeful playoff births, not championships as long as he is here. HUGE mistake on this guy.

Contract expected to be worth 27-30 M annually.

*I’ll post the source as soon as I can get the link*

I told you guys once but half the forum chose to ignore all the things said by the Joneses and Dak.

“Oh but he should be paid 18M because he’s not a top 5 guy.”

“Oh well even qb’s in the top 10 aren’t paid 25+.”

“Franchise qbs get 23M.”

Those same guys who make 22 now will make 32 their next contract. It’s called a market. Understand it and get over it.

PS. If you think this is fake news you’re literally setting yourself up to be crushed. Just accept it now.

I think most everybody here knew this was happening. Some just think it's a bad decision.

fake news. I don't buy it. HE ISNT GETTING 27-30 MIL PER. If that happens, we better prepare to lose at least 2 big name players in free agency.
It’s guys like this that I do it for lol. You do understand that you don’t sign the players JJ does right?

Accept it man, it’s the going rate. It’s a market it’s just how it works. You’re going to have a heart attack if you keep believing in fantasies lol they literally both said he’s getting paid big bucks. You don’t believe SJ, JJ, Dak, or his agent? You think they’re all joking?

I think some were hoping the Jones would wise up and not pay their barely (if that) Top 10 QB, elite QB money.

Remember, any contract signed as an extension is added to his current $2.1MM deal. So for instance, a 5 year deal at the low end of $27MM annually, is actually a total of 6/137.1 for an annual value just under $23MM for cap purposes. Not saying whether I agree with the price or not, just providing some additional context.

Also the money won't all be guaranteed. You can backend 50 Million non-guaranteed into the last year of the contract and it won't be reality, but it will change the overall number dramatically.

Curious to see what the guaranteed money is. Not surprised at all that he's getting paid though. The FO kind of made it clear

27-30 seems like a lot for a mid range QB, but the QB market is crazy. Is what it is
This guy. This guy knows a lot of things. Be like this guy.

27-30 per doesn’t mean as much as what’s guaranteed and the first few years. You can build lots of fluff in a contract
If it’s a real 27-30 contract it’s a mistake and I want to sign him

Since Jerry Jones announced last month that Dak WILL be extended at the market-rate for franchise QBs, more than half the people on this forum (myself included) have been predicting Dak will most likely make between $26-$30mil, depending on bonus, guarantee and length/structure.

Your firm grasp of the obvious is rather quaint.
Please, louder for those in the back. They keep posting something about him getting 18M or something

Lol look through the comments man you’d be surprised.

Oh I've seen the comments. Denial can be a funny thing.

I would've preferred to wait before considering such a commitment but Jerry has made his opinion on the matter known for some time.

This is interesting.

1) Rodgers - $33.5MM Packers, no playoffs
2) Ryan - $30MM Atlanta, no playoffs
3) Cousins - $28MM, Minnesota, no playoffs
4) Jimmy G - $28.5MM, San Francisco, no playoffs
5) Prescott - $27MM, What will the Cowboys do if this is the contract?
5) Stafford - $27MM, Detroit, no playoffs

Get ready people. Whether it’s this year for 25-27 million. Or let him play out his contract and with a improved and healthy O-Line and a whole year with Cooper and a improved Gallup he is going to put up better numbers and get 30-32 a year. Like it or not.

It's the market, live with it. Today's overpayment is tomorrow's bargain. Because those Qbs behind him will leapfrog him when they're up.
