Don't sleep on Buffalo. They have an elite defense and a young QB that SHOULD get better. If they can get soild production from Shady and Gore, then they can certainly make a run at a wild card..

Now it’s imperative that we resign Tavon Austin. If we lose him him too, it’s curtains for our receiving corp
Curtains. Lmao. Gallup and cooper will get the production, written and tes replace the coles numbers easily. We have Hurns and brown plus Cedric Wilson to compete in tc for the rest. We aren’t running 4 wr sets in a wide open offense. He won’t be missed. Yes Austin will Be needed but as a returner more so and maybe an occasional catch. We will be fine jeez.

Disappointed to see him leave. Shame.

People crowing about how awful the deal is for Buffalo.

Ask yourself - would you rather have Tavon Austin (always injured and Mr Jet Sweep the whole world knows it's coming) and Allen Hurns (again often injured and come on, he hasn't been Mr Production) or Cole Beesley? The latter good for 700-800 yards as a slot receiver if used correctly...

I would rather pay like $500k or even $1 million too much for him per annum than $10 million per annum for Prescott but there you go...

You and I sir are in a very small minority but with a handful of others...
Totally agree and perfectly summarized. Can't believe even some of the Dak detractors whose opinion I agree with more often than not, were so against Beasley.

Once the 2 man offense of Zeke and Coop is limited by the opposing d coordinators like It was last year, and the 3rd down conversion rate is even worse...Maybe a few that are currently against keeping Cole, may re-consider.

All I know is he got open consistently and mostly got us first downs
when needed.

Have to laugh at all the fans saying "good riddance" to Beasley. We'll see how much better off we are to be rid of that "clown who wants more touches" when we suddenly can't move the ball on 3rd and long anymore. At least we know Jerry and Stephen are confident in turning over that responsibility to Hurns, who cares he hasn't done anything here but break a leg.

Nice post brother. I made a similar post in agreeing with Swagger's Beasley appreciation and value post. Not quite sure what I was missing on Beaz cuz he produced with both a sucky QB and scheme.
I agree with ya, the inability to convert third downs will be even worse.

He's guaranteed not to win anything in Buffalo. And he's guaranteed obscurity. Let's face facts, they're as irrelevant as it gets in the NFL. Ever been to that town? It's a truck stop along the highway, nowhere. A place you drive through, not to.

Say what we will about Dallas, but they have some semblance of a Super Bowl chance. Buffalo? No. Not now, not soon, and certainly not during Beasley's two-to-three-year run up there.

And he's also tossed away any chance at being a "Cowboys alumni" and having a career covering the team after he retires like guys like Newton, Irvin, Smith, Aikman, and Johnston have. He's just another player now.

Like I said, I hope he saves his money.

From what I heard he got 10 mill more than what Dallas offered. That's a good chunk of change to pass up just to be called a Cowboy lifer. Especially if the Boys never win a Superbowl in the next few years he plays... Maybe he would make some of that up in merchandising, but I doubt 10 mill worth..

Well, with that, hopefully we can get John Ursua from Hawaii in the 6th round. He'd be a great replacement for Beasley.

Don't share the vitriol being slung at the Bease. For an UDFA he played dam well, and how ever long his career lasts he has to get what he can. Not surprised he decided to go elsewhere. 2 of the best catches Cowboys have had in recent years belong to him.
We will hopefully move forward and slot should not be too hard to fill, draft or in house.
Thanks for your contributions fella. Enjoy the snow !

Yep, me either. Best to the Beaz and fam

They offered Sammy Watkins the same deal the Chiefs did and he chose the Chiefs. The Cowboys are like every other average franchise, they can't just sell players on playing for America's team anymore. If ET ends up here it's because they overpaid or no other team wanted him.

He was the hardest WR on this team to cover on 3rd down, and that's a very valuable player to have.

Yep.

Its $14 million guaranteed. Honestly, its not a bad deal for Buffalo. I was thinking more like $10-12 million guaranteed for Beasley, but I might have gone as high as $14 million for 4 years. I'd have to see how the deal is structured but if its a back-ended salary deal then if Beasley only plays for 2 years the Bills won't be eating two much money. Its a deal I think will look good if Beasley plays 3 more years at the level he is playing now. Beasley is not a guy who misses a lot of games. Playing 3 or even 4 more years is a definite possibility.

What this deal tells me is that Dallas will be losing some good players next year because Dallas's idea of over-paying players is at the low end of the range.
