@xwalker why no love for the Giants rebuilt defense in 2014? Or whatever year the Eagles built the "dream team"

Good point!

Yes, I was crushed when the Giants won big that year they gave out 200M in contracts to free agents.

The Giants are clever. They dumped those big contract players which should allow them to spend in free agency again...

Stupid Cowboys try to avoid contracts that result in big amounts of dead-money. Not the Giants. They take the dead-money hits when they trade those players to other teams. They pay the bonuses for players then trade them and create dead-money. The stupid teams getting those players are only allowed to pay the non-guaranteed base salaries for those players. How do those teams expect to ever win the dead-money competition...

I have the press conference from when the Cowboys signed Brandon Carr that I just re-watch every year to remember the great memories.

So let me get this str8 here one bad move or moment we had with a Fa pick up in Carr puts us out of the FA market forever?
It's fans like yourself that keep Jerry and Co. in business.....

P.S. Wake up bud Fa signings are a major part of any Superbowl contender just as important as the Draft,Cap,etc etc....Stop scaring folks with the Carr signing jeez man what do you think we're slow minded or 11 years old here?

No, I want more Brandon Carr type signings.

Tre Boston 10-years, 300 million please.

Lol, OK for those that might want to be comparing the Cowboys to to the Pats in any way whatsoever. Coming from someone that's been a Dallas fan for the last 45+ years..... Dallaa can't smell the Pats Crotch when it comes to running an NFL team in any way shape or form except for maybe the draft and that only since they got McClay

The Pats literally made Stephon Gilmore one of the highest paid CBs in football an offseason or two ago.

It’s embarrassing that people actually think we approach FA and overall roster management like the Patriots.
Comparing how the Patriots work FA to what we do is laughable. You guys act like they throw vet minimum deals around and that’s all they do.
WE draft better than the Patriots do so we have more of our own free agents to sign. But say the Pats hand out more big contracts than we do is laughable.

Which is what people cry about.

So I am now a Pats fan because I admit what is obvious to most fans in the NFL? That the Pats are the greatest franchise in league history?

But yeah, I am a Pats fan. Until you accuse me of being an Eagles fan, or a Skins fan, or fan of whatever team I might give credit to.....
That's all that need be said. Pats fan.

No, you sure don't. Just rather go for that 23 year memory loss instead.
You are the one forgetting the Pats were crap 23 years ago and will be again in 23 years while the Cowboys will still be relevant.

Do people really think the Cowboys and Patriots are very similar in how they approach roster building?

We also don't have the same opportunities. Vets looking for a ring will go to the Pats and buckle down. The rich get richer.

Remember all of those years the Skins won big in free agency? Albert Haynesworth, etc..

The Cowboys losing in free agency to the Skins still really hurts.

I don't care about the Patriots winning some silly game in February so many times. That's trivial compared to all of those years the Skins won free agency.

I've heard the Patriots won that same silly game again but I couldn't care less. My focus is on the Cowboys winning free agency.

I fear the Skins might be up to their winning ways again this year.

Stupid teams like the Patriots and Cowboys will like just keep on being losers (in free agency) every year. I feel as bad for those Patriots fans as for us Cowboys fans. At least we won free agency once or twice since 2000 (50M for Brandon Carr one year and about 50M for Bigg Davis another year). The sad sack Patriots have never won.

I have the press conference from when the Cowboys signed Brandon Carr that I just re-watch every year to remember the great memories.

The Patriots signed the top player in free agency just two years ago...……...Stephon Gilmore...…….5 yrs $65 million, $31 guaranteed

He was rated the number one CB in the NFL this year and picked off Goff in the SB to seal the win.

But keep telling us how free agency is for losers, I'm sure the Pats really regret singing Gilmore.

Its embarrassing people cant use a simple thing like Google to see the Pats signed the top free agent in the league two years ago.

But yeah, we and the Pats are just the same...………...Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaabaaaaaaaaaaa

These homer threads are cracking me up tonight.

The Cowboys and Patriots are both losers.

They don't win Free Agency.

Who cares about anything thing else.

What's this SB nonsense. I don't care about that. Maybe the Patriots won some Mascot competition too. Who cares? They don't win free agency and the Cowboys don't win free agency. That makes them both losers!

The Pats dont win free agency?

Dude, STEPHON GILMORE literally won them a SB picking off Goff...........he was a high priced free agent from the Bills

If that is not a win in free agency, I dont know what the hell your definition is of a win is.

Neither do the Patriots.

Both teams just keep losing free agency.
.

You keep saying over and over the Pats keep losing in free agency.

What the hell are you talking about?

IF you think Gilmore was a loss in free agency......................wow.................only the top rated CB in the league this year

Yeah some of these clowns still haven't figured out what you are saying. Nice double down on 11. I'm expecting an ace for a 21.

Some of these guys don't get it.

The Patriots are "cheap" because they move on from players before they outprice themselves..Richard Seymour, Chandler Jones

The Cowboys are cheap because they expect players to play for less than market value. Demarcus Lawrence, all outside free agents.

That's the same thing, you are just characterizing it differently.

The only real difference is the Cowboys hold on too long hoping the player will sign. The Patriots pull the trigger slight earlier.

Three NFC teams haven't played in the CCG in the last 20 years. Two of them are the Cowboys and Commanders.

But yeah, the Patriots. :muttley:

LOL another poster trying to compare what we do in the offseason to the Patriots.

Do people really think the Cowboys and Patriots are very similar in how they approach roster building?

The Patriots go for it for the right player. They spent big on Gilmore in free agency a couple of years ago. They loaded their team up in 07. They just tried to trade for AB. They identify certain players in free agency. The Jones’s think they are so smart by sitting back especially when they have a player they can get that will make a big difference.
