He's saying dude's damaged goods and should be treated as such.

While dude's saying he won't budge from his damage until a financial commitment, which is stupid.
Dlaws position is not stupid.

I would not go under the knife where something could go wrong until I had secured my security.

He was a good solider on the tag.

Trade him. You can't allow a player to do what he's done.

Trade him, because we can't *stop* Lawrence from doing what he's doing. He wants big bucks. They should be working with him so he can get it elsewhere while we get something in trade.

It's nothing new when players, their agents and NFL clubs play the waiting game. It happens all the time. Players and their agents routinely wait to see who the first guy will be to set the premium contract rate. Then, others follow the leader to sign for even more. Egads, the waiting game lives on! ;)

Dude barely put up double digit sacks in his “prove it” year and now wants to be paid like he’s the second coming of Reggie White. Trade him if you can. No way I’m giving this guy a mega deal.

What's it going to be then, eh?

team was surprised when dlaw agent delayed the surgery.
that could take away 3 months of play from the team if the surgery was strategically timed for august
jerry does not like it but they were not prepared for that move.
And he shouldn't. It is a significant surgery that leaves a player with twelve weeks until they have a full range of motion. If he had it right now, it is July before he can truly be close to start preparing for the season.

The catch is nobody is going to trade for a player who has one arm hanging off.

He was a good solider on the tag.

Nonsense. He can take out an insurance policy against the potential loss of earnings if something goes wrong in the surgery.

This is a silly negotiation ploy. He didn’t factor in that the Cowboys could wait him out. At some point he hurts himself by not getting the surgery. Either he plays lame under the tag and hurts his chances of landing a big payday next year or he starts to limit his value on a long-term deal by raising real concern over missed time.

Dont see how. As far as I know he has to sign the tag or cant be traded

The whole purpose of the tag is to retain the rights of the player while not under contract.

The Cowboys have his rights. They can trade him. Of course no team would ever trade for him unless he's willing to go and sign an extension.

Maybe he needs to look at Ziggy Ansah's current employment situation?

I'm a Cowboys fan. Not a DeMarcus Lawrence fan.
I don’t feel sorry for either one but if I were to choose a side I have the least sympathy for Jerry and the Cowboys as a franchise. Go for the “little guy”.
