He turned down 6 years 120 million. Wants 2.5 million more. I think this is gonna get out of hand now.

I think so too.

It's all about timing. Could have had him last year for $17MM. Probably could have had him for $20MM this year, if that was the initial offer. The longer you wait, the higher the price.
But last year was a different scenario. You can't throw premium money toward a guy who needs to prove his worth and availability.

If DLaw gets over 20, what is Dak worth, what is Zeke, what is Collins, Byron Jones, Smith, LVE? Where does it stop.
They already paid the OL, now that precedent is working its way around to the rest of the team.

He asked for 20 million a few weeks ago. They now are offering 20 and he has decided to ask for 22.5. You got your original asking price. Greedy agent is going to cause some bad blood and hard feelings soon.

its a shoulder, surgery makes it even more of an issue IMHO. Right now it is all loose. Tighten it up and now an injury is more severe. It is nuisance injury it is not like he is a QB that needs that shoulder for throwing. He played with it for almost 2 seasons. What the man needs is another real pass rusher opposite of him so that the line can actually apply pressure evenly.

Regardless he still has to use that armand shoulder to do alot of the rough stuff...swim moves, fighting the olineman every play, the olineman punching and shoulder checking him every play and so on.

I DO NOT TRUST TANKS SITUATION AT ALL, because of the server risk even after surgery, and the physical position he plays that requires alot of that area of the body.

IMO putting this out there seeds the ground for a possible trade. Other teams (Buffalo) will know what it costs to sign him.

Been saying it from the start Lawrence side has been doing him a disservice. Lawrence needs to learn don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Especially when the hand that feeds you has a history of doing its players right come payday

If he won’t take that offer, let him walk. He got what he asked for and now wants to say no to it? Let another team pay him.

Right now as it sits it is more a nuisance than a function thing. A torn labrum usually is only noticed in extreme motions like throwing or reaching above ones head with resistance pulling up on the arm in. When the muscles are relaxed around the shoulder the stability is more noticeable especially when walking. Long term it could contribute to arthritis in the joint. but that is down the road.

Exactly. This isn't on management folks, its on Lawrence and his agent.

If I were the Cowboys I would make it a take it or leave it offer due to them going back on their word. If the offer isn't accepted I would trade him prior to draft. Simple.

He has to be worth something comparable to what Mack got the Raiders. Trade him. Acquire Quinn. And revamp line through draft.

I would go as far as to sign Suh to go with Quinn and other additions already made and draft.

It is what it is. It isn't ideal but the rest of our coming FA's need to be shown that this front office, the Dallas Cowboys organization will not be pushed around.

If, and that's a big if, the Cowboys went to $20MM AAV but then cut the guaranteed money they initially offered, that changes the calculus a bit.

The hangup likely has more to do with the guatanteed money they're further apart on. If they were 2 million apart a season the deal likely already gets done.

It’s strictly business. I’m not sure why we’re more supportive of the greed of ownership over the greed of players?

New contract negotiations are the opportunity for players. Which ownership despite the guarantees are not oblidged to upheld in full.
Of course you don't get it, you're expecting everyone to blast Jerry Jones and if they don't you claim they are defending him.

It works both ways. A player deserves their fair share. But in order to build a competitive team properly you have to balance the cap and not overpay players. Especially those who are a risk.

Most reasonable fans want the TEAM to be great and that happens when a staff is smart and doesn't throw ridiculous money toward a player that will eventually hurt the team financially.

There are a ton of examples in the past and I commend the staff for NOT simply signing whatever.
