I swear it's like this is the 1st time any of you have seen contract negotiations play out....
nah...we realize this is the nasty he said, she said stuff that goes on. But the difference here is a couple things. Tank needs shoulder surgery and is refusing to do so,thus holding the FO hostage. AND we have other top tier players that want top dollar too. EVERYONE cannot demand and get guaranteed money. WE HAVE A CAP.

If that were true then Dallas would just trade him because that means you aren't signing or resigning anyone else anytime soon. Plus people forget Lawrence is still a left defensive end while Mack is a right DE and sorry I love Lawrence but teams scheme for Mack not Lawrence. Mack definitely the better player and worth the money he got. Same goes for Miller. Both are better than Lawrence. Dallas top offer should $21.5 million average and $65 million in guarantees, anything more they should just walk away.
AGREE, we must walk away if these reports are true.

Is he serious? Is this thread serious? I'm not trying to be a wise guy, seriously asking. I want to know because I'm going to go to my boss and say 31.28 an hour is not enough for risking my life. I want 1000 a day! I'll keep you updated.

I don't know what you do for a living, but my guess is it would be easier for your boss to replace you with someone equivalent than it would be for the Cowboys to replace Lawrence with someone equivalent. Not picking on you - that same thing would apply to me and my working situation too. NFL players have more leverage than everyday people, especially top ones, because you can't just hire a job recruiter to find candidates, hold interviews and find an equivalent replacement.

That said, I'm cool with it if the Cowboys decide not to meet Lawrence's demands. I would hate to lose him, but his contract has to fit within the overall team needs.

Yes, Dallas have other top tier players but they knew that last year. They could have locked in Lawrence for less but decided to tag him because they wanted him to prove it again. Not going to blame Lawrence for asking for the moon afterwards. He has that right, and Dallas has the right to either to continue to negotiate with Lawrence or trade him. It's business.

So then what?

Cave and pay him a contract that is about the same as Khalil Mack?

They'd be dumber signing him to that contract than walking away from him.

If you don't want to pay an edge that, fine. But just under Mack is exactly where Lawrence belongs.

He can’t pkay that Bell game with the Cowboys because they are cheap and have no problem going into the season without him. Cowboys aren’t nearly as desperate as his team thinks.
The steelers didn’t bend either and bell sat out. And bell lost 14 million he wont get back. D-Law would be losing 20. That’s what I mean, I just see a similar scenario. Or he signs the tag and plays half hearted. Someone or both are going to lose.

he has a right to be greedy..fine, but not to be a moron. The team isn't bound to him in any way. The sooner he realizes this, the better. Its all about job security in the NFL...and so if I am him, I'm firing the idiot agent and getting the surgery done now. Otherwise, no team will want him. He is killing his own career by putting it off. He seems clueless.

we simply cannot allow 1 player hold the team hostage capwise. He will hamstring the teams ability to get better if we sign him to what he wants.

I believe this franchise is learning. They should have traded him last season. But they respectfully thought he would take a solid contract. It's like he wants to be highest paid overall. I never took Lawrence for a money player I've been wrong before

I APPLAUD THE STEELERS. They did the right thing and the team didn't really miss a beat.

I think we might start off slow but I think we will be fine.Don't underestimate Armstrong,Hyder..or Quinn if we get him. I'm not worried. No player should hold the team hostage.
I would just like to know if D-Law is going to sit back and let this agent lose him money. Or is he the one being greedy. I don’t think any team in the league will pay him this. Maybe a good starting point for them but not going to happen. He could sit this year and lose the 20 million. You can’t get that back D-Law. Ask bell.

The problem with that is if he half ***** it, why would any team think he is worth the money he wants next year?
