Are we too hard on Taco?

He’s measured against Watt, if Watt had the same amount of sacks then I don’t think Taco hatred would be nearly as bad

I mean are his struggles more attitude or lack of talent. Is it not a bit premature label him a bust?

I think we are. Guy showed promise last camp. He was hurt and bad attitude put him in the dog house. Talent is there. I think he will be a factor. He has to be with Gregory suspended and the Lawrence debacle.

I believe it's attitude. Always have, to be honest. It's not just about wanting to play hard or work hard, I believe it's also about what might be going on in the locker room with other young players etc.

I think Charlton has not played to high expectation but he will be heading into his 3rd season and I hope to see him producing closer to those expectation. I don't recall a lot of people on the Lawrence bandwagon in the early going of his career. So I will wait before claiming Charlton of being a complete bust

Yes

Defensive end is a tough position to play some can do it early and some take time to develop

Taco needed to develop now this season if he can’t get atleast 7 or 8 sacks he needs to be traded

But these past two seasons? He’s been ok I’ve seen some improvement

Dunno what his deal is. He was beginning to show some improvement the last five- or six games of his rookie year.
Last year had a sack against the Panthers in game one and was a ghost afterwards.
It sure would be nice if he developed into a solid DE. Could save about $140 million if he did.

Guy is pretty much already a bust in my book, I guess he could somewhat redeem himself if he comes on big time this year.

Is it only Dallas?

Or do duds and bust get relabeled as "project players" throughout the league?

Just asking...

I don't think we are hard on him at all.

...I just think he has a soft shell.

I haven’t seen this actual stats about his snap counts but I have heard that he didn’t get a lot of snaps on passing downs as opposed to running downs. Wonder if it’s true. I know he had a attitude that got him benched.

For whatever reason, he landed in Marinelli's doghouse which not altogether bad UNLESS you handle it the wrong way.
Rather than sucking and pouting, use as motivation to prove him wrong. You can overcome the concerns he had. In fact, not sure if many remember, it took Jerry's comment to get back on the field. That's apparently how pissed Marinelli was.....

He was in the dog house after his injury in week 9. Maybe something to do with how he went about his rehab or attitude in meetings or something. But week 16 and 17 he was on fire leading the Dline in tackles. If those 5-6 tackle games can become more the norm for him he'll be a good piece of this dline.

He's a first round pick that was actually so inconsequential he got deactivated for games in his 2nd season. I don't think the problems are the high expectations of fans as to why he gets criticized. It's the fact that he's done pretty much zero in two seasons as Dallas.

It's not too much to expect more than that out of your first round pick, is it?

Some fans like to lower their bar of expectations to the point where everyone can meet them.
