There is nothing illegal about it. Its just an unwritten rule that would get an agent mad.
lol, yea, you sure wouldn't want to upset an agent that's in the process of trying to fleece you.......If I were a player I would most likely not employ an agent....most can probably see where they fall production wise.

Skip is not a reporter he was just giving his opinion and speculating on what had been reported. I think that either 1 SJ got permission to talk to DLaw about the contract or 2 SJ called him on his own and didn't discuss numbers at all. The report that I read the conversation was basically Tank saying that he wanted to be a Cowboy for the rest of his career and that he had done everything that JJ and SJ asked him to do which led to getting the deal done.
If true,#2? That's pretty cool& real good to hear,man:starspin:

I heard the topic of the conference call was Troy Aikman saying Skip Bayless is gay.
:lmao2: he's definitely got the house yap dog, of supporting criteria in the former #8's allegation:lmao2:

Stephen went around Canter and called Lawrence, shortly after deal was done. Unwritten rule but this shows it was clear Lawrence agent was the one who was causing this to dragged out. Skip Bayless is the guy who is reporting this. Saw it on undisputed

Most of the time its the agent.

It was a conference call.....no shenanigans..... the agent was feeding DLaw lines about getting traded but DLaw wouldn't go there.... the agent knew they had to make the deal at that point

During a breakthrough conference call on Thursday between Cowboys COO Stephen Jones, DE Demarcus Lawrence, agent David Canter, and Canter’s VP of analytics, Brian McIntyre, the agent texted his client at a particularly tense moment with directions on what to say.

So trade me then.

When those words never came out of Lawrence’s mouth, the situation crystallized to Canter.

As long as he wasn't tampering with another team's player, he's well within his a right to call the player directly.

Jerry was well known for this
Yeah, I think that's an etiquette question.

That's about spot on,in an almost as of a HILARIOUS level,as to that mind bendingly bizarre ployed tactic of the #90's actual delay in shoulder surgery being deemed as a leverage tool,,,this Canter agent is either a crack baby or is a current connoisseur of the product,,,

Yeah, the agent has to make every argument he can. But when it gets to the point of saying he wants a trade over 5% more on the contract, everyone knows its nonsense.
