There comes a great barker, Jerry, who is perpetually expecting a Super Bowl. I love Jerry, but he is lost in mediocrity.
Some of you, too.
Blokes, goons, scholars, oafs ... You have every right to be optimistic. Yet
We are, realistically, a DT, a safety and a QB away from the Super Bowl.

Can you, assorted ruffians, offer honest views about your expectations in 2019??
Will ya?

10-6
1 and out in the playoffs.
Repeat in 2020.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Is there ever going to come a point when the self-appointed Realists are actually realistic about things going into a season? Or is it always just going to be a euphemism for “dissatisfied with everything”?

I think the biggest obstacle is Garrett himself.

A great coach puts his players in a position to succeed, yet, game after game players are out of position, there are numerous pre-snap penalties and often seem ill prepared.

But the thing that bothers me most is the way it seems (to me anyway) like there are rarely halftime adjustments. Like his attitude is they are gonna out smash mouth the other team like the 90’s.

It’s as if he still thinks other teams don’t have strength and conditioning coaches, and that it takes plays designed to take advantage of the rules in your favor.

Then there’s the problem of over valuing Cowboys players because they have more exposure.

All that aside, 12-4, L in NFCCG.

Hopefully the O Line will be back at it with Frederick’s return and a few tweaks.

I like the optimism.
I liked it most in 1997. Then it got stale.

Ga'head, those indignant that their Super Bowl fantasies are questioned should really question the glaring lack of a franchise QB and a DT and safety. To Deny that is to deny reality.

I've always suspected OP was guilty of posting under the influence. Add this thread to the massive list of threads that do nothing to weaken my suspicion.
I'll put you down as head of drinks at our Super Bowl party, oaf.

I'm pretty sure Dak is a just about good enough, above average QB.

Pick 58 is gonna go on a DT that will contribute, maybe not til the latter part of the season.

I don't think any of us really know what we have at safety. We are possibly stronger there than we assume.

I think a realistic take for next season is that we are a contender that is 1 or 2 key injuries away from not being a contender.

Too many fans like you are really comical, really it’s funny reading and listening to y’all complain about everything wins and losses. There’s nothing wrong with the owner, HC, or the QB. Y’all don’t know what a great coach is, . You think Jimmy was a great coach, haha he was a great motivator, and delegator. If he was so great what happened in Miami? I have been a Cowboys fan for 53yrs Landry was great, he didn’t win Super Bowls right out the gate and not did he win them on a regular basis, Yes we racked up a lot of wins which I am very proud to throw in any and everyone’s face. He was consistent it was easier back then simpler, you could say. I hated that we kept getting beat by the Steelers, but I don’t think Chuck Knoll was a great coach, not do I think Bradshaw was a great QB, he had what every QB needs a very good to great team/players around him and they were intelligent did their jobs, did not make bone headed plays at the wrong time. Coaches can only do so much, it’s more on the players to do their jobs

as hard as it is to be consistently good in the NFL, were the cowboys to make the playoffs and win at least 1 game that would make 4 appearances in 6 years with 3 win a and maybe more....my expectation is a playoff birth and 1 win at least....hopefully in the divisional round
