DAL officially exercised the 9.1m option for 2020

It doesn't become guaranteed until next March but it keeps Zeke under contract for the next 2 years

It allows them to move on to BJones or JSmith or LCollins

It leaves DAL with over 85m in Cap Space next year before any rollover or cuts

Good pay for Zeke, I think all parties will make his next contract a smooth process.

You think DAL extends Jaylon without getting a restricted year out of him before he cashes out?

I think DAL should pay Byron, but in this scheme he may be replacable.

LC is a big question mark for me cause Fleming is on a 2 year deal as insurance in case a deal can't be made with #71. LC is like BJ to me it's 50/50 what the FO will do.

Dallas will not extend Jaylon before his restricted year. Missed entire 2016 and still recovering in 2017. He basically has given Dallas 1 year of production they were banking on when drafted.

Wow seems premature but I’m not really a numbers guy. Just for perspective, what is Zeke making for 2019 and what is the value of his entire 5 year contract?

After his 5th year deal I may just watch EE walk out the door. To me Dak, Jaylon, BJ and Cooper are more important and maybe LC too. It is just to easy to draft RBs and with the money tied in this O-line I should be able to draft a 1200 yard back in the 3rd round.

Zeke is responsible for Dak's success, and it's not as easy as you think to just get a 1200yd back. Not to mention that the OL is not what it used to be.

Anyone else anxious to see where the Cowboys are at after new deals for Dak, Cooper, Elliott, Jones, Jaylon, Collins.....
Somebody posted the other day that before Tank signed..

we had like over 30+ guys up for contracts after 2020.

That is a ton of players.

Obviously the team is preparing for that.

So to answer your question...

It will be a big issue after this year.

More so than these deals we are wrestling with now.

LC is the most overrated player we have by a mile. Tht guy needs to go. This will be his last year here.

They may have used the option year..

but I do not see him playing it out.

No way is Zeke going to not cash in on a big contract while the rest of the team gets money.

They will resign him to an extension before this 5th year comes into play.

Otherwise..Zeke may not report.

And I would not blame him.

Did you miss the year after, Dallas let Demarco Murray walk?

Draft a RB and a CB this draft. IF we get lucky and the RB is a stud. Bye Zeke. If the CB is a Stud. Bye Jones.

I think someone might poach JSmith on a 1st Round Tender of 4.5m

I might try a short 2 year extension to get thru the CBA and lets him 'secure the bag" after missing out on the Draft

Zeke is taking home 3.8m this year from his guaranteed base salary. His cap hit is 7.9mil this year.

His original contract was 4 years, 24mil, all guaranteed. Which he took him roughly 16.8mil of that 24mil in 2016.
In real cash in 17 he took home a little over a mil, and in 2018 he took home 2.7mil.

With the 5th year option exercised, it's now 5yr 33mil (rounded).

He will play

He lost all of his guarantees with the suspension and he will lose millions if he sits out since he is under contract...... he may skip OTAs but that is all
