Pretty much agree but, then again, Payton lost out on a second SB appearance because the NFL’s version of the Three Blind Mice each missed two penalties on the same play vs the Rams in the NFC Champ game.

He's won a super bowl and was a PI call away from another. He's an upgrade over the clapper any day. Doubt Jerry would bring him in, though. Can't have anyone tying to steal the limelight away. JG doesn't try to do that, hence his longevity.

But it does make sense. I don't know why Moore was hired. Unless Jerry is going to clean house next season.
