Nah, I think this may be his last year though .

If Taco played up to his draft status, Crawford would be a goner.

We don't get better by cutting guys like TCrawford

We are in win now mode, not store up salary cap space( even though we have 80m+ next year)

Our actual cuts will make NFL rosters.... that wasn't true here for a long time

At least trade some guys before cutting quasi-starters

I'd hope to be good enough to cut TCrawford, but that's not where we are. If Irvin came back and was certified non-psycho, then cutting Crawford is a more justified sale.

It's not just about saving money, but allocating money where it does the most good. With Irvin back, the marginal utility on Crawford would be a lot less. We could put that 7mil toward Berry, which would be a big marginal improvement.

I'm not in win now mode. It's hard to think about doing that with Garrett doing game management.

With the additions of the new dline players through the draft and his recent off the field incident, this would be a good time of releasing him.

Releasing him as a post June 1st cut would create 7 million in cap savings and only account for 3 million in dead money.

It would also clear 10 million in cap space in 2020.

I'm all for releasing him as a post June 1st cut.
Would prefer a pay cut
Good player

Why do we need more cap space this year? Only if we extremely front load a Dak extension. No way we release him this year IMO.

I would unless i could package him with a pick or another player and get something in return.
Crawford has worn out his welcome with the Cowboys.
No one really likes the guy (fans) but the Coaches love him. Buy he gets paid way to much.
Maybe approach him with the hole paycut or cut.

The defense would be much less on the defensive line without him.

It's obvious unless you take the simpleton approach of judging all defensive linemen by sack totals.

Good player

I think that is a real possibility in 2020. Pay cut and - this will drive a lot of people on here nuts - a one-year extension!
He is a good player, maybe not good enough for his salary, but solid. He is like a security blanket for the coaches. If someone gets hurt, you know you can stick Crawford in at three positions on the line and get solid play. If DLaw requires him to sit out a few weeks, I bet my bottom dollar that Crawford would start at LDE, and actually play really well.
