I think that's Michael Jordan vs. Michael Jackson. There are no famous Jordan Browns that I know of.

Small school, character questions, he would have likely fallen into the 4th/5th round where he was projected. Then we could be talking about Thornhill, McGovern, Hill and Pollard and would have met more needs and drafted where players were slotted to go.

Maybe or maybe not. I saw one scouting report that said the expectation is Hill would have gone in the top 60 picks, so it's hard to say how much longer he would have lasted. NFL.com had him projected in the 2nd round, and I saw others that had him projected to go in rounds 2-3.

I like seeing that, but notice that they come from players in non-power conferences. The real question with Hill (to me) is whether he can handle the jump to the NFL. It isn't all about just being the better athlete on this level.
 
At least based on NFL.com grading of prospects Hill 5.84 and Thornhill 5.85 so you have 2 guys grading out pretty much the same and in the end Cowboys went with the guy they liked
 
Dallas went in a different direction, though. The team added two more defensive linemen on the draft’s final day and head coach Jason Garrett said that strengths in other areas don’t amount to much if you aren’t strong up front on both sides of the ball.

“That’s where you want to be strong on the fronts. At the end of the day with the offensive line and the defensive line, that’s where you want to be physical,” executive vice president Stephen Jones said, via ESPN.com. “That’s where we want to dominate. And if you can dominate those fronts, then good things happen.”

The Cowboys are talking about extensions for players like Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott, but they’ve already made big investments on both lines. Their approach to the draft shows that they’re likely to continue focusing on those spots even as they take care of players in flashier positions.

Or he could be the 5th or 6th round pick that he was projected to be. And the bad attitude comes out after a slow start and the kid bombs.

That is just as likely. Were talking about a kid with a bad attitude that didnt even start his last year on the team. Its a huge risk. And we already know that he has poor technique in the run game and gets pushed back at times in the run game.

The Rams chose his RB partner at Memphis (Henderson) to be Gurley's backup in the 2nd round. If you can play, you can play.

Some truth to that, but why teams miss on so many draft picks is that it is hard to project how the guy who whipped Too Small University's top guard is going to handle going up against the best guards in football.

It is a fasicinating and frustrating industry I'm sure. How does a small school kid from Troy become "DWare":) They are all lotto tickets and you hope you picked a winner.

You have a better understanding than a committee of scouts and staff? I'm guessing they aren't as concerned about the secondary as they are the DL, which got man-handled in the playoffs.

UCF lost to LSU in the last Fiesta Bowl

Did I say that? Nice try with the Straw man argument. My point was that they did not repair the S position in the offseason. Safeties do help the running game. Anderson carrying Heath for 10 yards was embarrassing, no?

I'm much more concerned with the other 165 yards than one play.
